Get rid of MegaAp adware from Microsoft Internet Explorer

By resetting Internet Explorer web-browser you revert back your web browser settings to its default state. This is first when troubleshooting problems that might have been caused by MegaAp .

First, open the IE. Next, click the button in the form of gear (Internet Explorer tools menu icon). It will show the Tools drop-down menu, click the “Internet Options” like the one below.

In the “Internet Options” window click on the Advanced tab, then press the Reset button. The Microsoft Internet Explorer will open the “Reset Internet Explorer settings” window as displayed below. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box, then click “Reset” button.

You will now need to reboot your system for the changes to take effect.

Delete MegaAp from Firefox by resetting web-browser settings

Resetting Mozilla Firefox browser will reset all the settings to their default state and will remove MegaAp ads, malicious add-ons and extensions. Essential information such as bookmarks, browsing history, passwords, cookies, auto-fill data and personal dictionaries will not be removed.

Click the Menu button (looks like three horizontal lines), and press the blue Help icon located at the bottom of the drop down menu as displayed on the image below.

Follow the onscreen procedure to restore your Mozilla Firefox web-browser settings to their default values.

Remove MegaAp from Chrome

This step will show you how to reset Google Chrome browser settings to default state. This can remove MegaAp ads and fix some surfing issues, especially after adware software infection. However, your saved bookmarks and passwords will not be lost. This will not affect your history, passwords, bookmarks, and other saved data.

First start the Chrome. Next, click the button in the form of three horizontal dots (Chrome menu button).

It will display the Google Chrome menu. Select More Tools, then click Extensions. Carefully browse through the list of installed add-ons. If the list has the extension signed with “Installed by enterprise policy” or “Installed by your administrator”, then complete the following guidance: Remove Chrome extensions installed by enterprise policy.

Open the Chrome menu once again. Further, click the option called “Settings”.

The web browser will show the settings screen. Another solution to display the Google Chrome’s settings – type chrome://settings in the web browser adress bar and press Enter

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the “Advanced” link. Now scroll down until the “Reset” section is visible, like below and click the “Reset settings to their original defaults” button.

The Chrome will open the confirmation prompt like below.

You need to confirm your action, click the “Reset” button. The internet browser will run the procedure of cleaning. Once it’s finished, the web-browser’s settings including newtab page, default search provider and homepage back to the values that have been when the Google Chrome was first installed on your computer.

Double click the Hitman Pro desktop icon. Once the utility is started, you will see a screen as on the image below.

Further, press “Next” button to begin scanning your PC for the MegaAp adware. This process can take quite a while, so please be patient. Once downloading is complete, close all windows on your PC system. Further, run the file called MBSetup. If the “User Account Control” dialog box pops up as shown on the image below, click the “Yes” button.

It will display the Setup wizard which will allow you set up MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) on the computer. Follow the prompts and don’t make any changes to default settings.

Once install is finished successfully, click “Get Started” button. Then MalwareBytes will automatically launch and you can see its main window like below.

Next, click the “Scan” button . MalwareBytes Free application will scan through the whole computer for the MegaAp adware. Depending on your personal computer, the scan can take anywhere from a few minutes to close to an hour. While the MalwareBytes Anti-Malware is scanning, you can see number of objects it has identified either as being malware.
