Carefully browse through the list of installed applications and remove all software that has the name similar to “Adsupply”. We suggest to click ‘Installed programs’ and even sorts all installed software by date. Clean up the web-browsers shortcuts which have been hijacked by ‘ad supported’ software
Once installed, this ad-supported software may add an argument similar to “http://site.address” into the Target property of the desktop shortcut for the Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Edge. Due to this, every time you launch the browser, it will open an undesired ad site.
To clear the web-browser shortcut, right-click to it and select Properties. On the Shortcut tab, locate the Target field. Click inside, you will see a vertical line – arrow pointer, move it (using -> arrow key on your keyboard) to the right as possible. You will see a text similar to “http://site.address” which has been added here. You need to delete it.
When the text is removed, click the OK button. You need to clean all shortcuts of all your web browsers, as they may be infected too.
Remove Adsupply advertisements from Internet Explorer
In order to restore all web-browser homepage, new tab and search engine by default you need to reset the Microsoft Internet Explorer to the state, which was when the MS Windows was installed on your computer.
First, start the Internet Explorer. Next, click the button in the form of gear (). It will show the Tools drop-down menu, click the “Internet Options” as shown on the image below.
In the “Internet Options” window click on the Advanced tab, then click the Reset button. The Microsoft Internet Explorer will show the “Reset Internet Explorer settings” window as displayed in the following example. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box, then click “Reset” button.
You will now need to reboot your system for the changes to take effect.
Remove Adsupply ads from Google Chrome
Like other modern browsers, the Chrome has the ability to reset the settings to their default values and thereby recover the web browser’s settings like new tab page, homepage and search provider by default that have been replaced by the ad supported software that cause unwanted Adsupply advertisements to appear.
- First launch the Chrome and press Menu button (small button in the form of three horizontal stripes).
- It will show the Google Chrome main menu. Select “Settings” option.
- You will see the Google Chrome’s settings page. Scroll down and press “Show advanced settings” link.
- Scroll down again and click the “Reset settings” button.
- The Google Chrome will display the reset profile settings page as shown on the screen above.
- Next click the “Reset” button.
- Once this task is complete, your web browser’s startpage, new tab and default search provider will be restored to their original defaults.

Delete Adsupply from Firefox by resetting web-browser settings
If the Firefox settings such as newtab page, home page and search provider by default have been replaced by the ad supported software, then resetting it to the default state can help.
Launch the Firefox and press the menu button (it looks like three stacked lines) at the top right of the browser screen. Next, click the question-mark icon at the bottom of the drop-down menu. It will open the slide-out menu.
Select the “Troubleshooting information”. If you’re unable to access the Help menu, then type “about:support” in your address bar and press Enter. It bring up the “Troubleshooting Information” page as on the image below.
Click the “Refresh Firefox” button at the top right of the Troubleshooting Information page. Select “Refresh Firefox” in the confirmation prompt. The FF will start a process to fix your problems that caused by the Adsupply adware that made to redirect your web browser to various ad web-sites. When, it’s done, click the “Finish” button.
Remove unwanted Scheduled Tasks
If an annoying web site opens automatically on Windows startup or at equal time intervals, then you need to check the Task Scheduler Library and get rid of all the tasks which have been created by ‘ad-supported’ program.
Press Windows and R keys on the keyboard together. This shows a dialog box that titled as Run. In the text field, type “taskschd.msc” (without the quotes) and click OK. Task Scheduler window opens. In the left-hand side, click “Task Scheduler Library”, as shown in the following example.
In the middle part you will see a list of installed tasks. Please select the first task, its properties will be open just below automatically. Next, press the Actions tab. Pay attention to that it launches on your machine. Found something like “explorer.exe http://site.address” or “chrome.exe http://site.address”, then delete this malicious task. If you are not sure that executes the task, check it through a search engine. If it’s a component of the ‘ad-supported’ program, then this task also should be removed.
Having defined the task that you want to remove, then click on it with the right mouse button and select Delete as displayed on the screen below.
Repeat this step, if you have found a few tasks that have been created by malicious software. Once is complete, close the Task Scheduler window.
