Most likely, one or more of them are responsible for the appearance of popup advertisements and web-browser redirect to the intrusive Secure Surf web site. If you have many programs installed, you can help simplify the search of harmful programs by sort the list by date of installation. If the Firefox web browser program is hijacked, then resetting its settings can help. The Reset feature is available on all modern version of FF. A reset can fix many issues by restoring Mozilla Firefox settings like new tab, homepage and search engine by default to its default state. It will save your personal information such as saved passwords, bookmarks, and open tabs.

First, run the Mozilla Firefox. Next, click the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (FF menu button). It will display the drop-down menu. Next, click the Help button (Mozilla Firefox help button).

Confirm your action, press the “Refresh Firefox”.

Remove Secure Surf virus from Google Chrome

Use the Reset web browser tool of the Chrome to reset all its settings such as newtab page, home page and search engine by default to original defaults. This is a very useful tool to use, in the case of web-browser hijacks such as Secure Surf.

Open the Google Chrome menu by clicking on the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (Google Chrome menu button). It will open the drop-down menu. Next, click to “Settings” option.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the “Show advanced settings” link. Now scroll down until the Reset settings section is visible, as shown in the figure below and click the “Reset settings” button.

Confirm your action, click the “Reset” button.

Get rid of Secure Surf virus from Microsoft Internet Explorer

In order to recover all web browser start page, new tab page and default search engine you need to reset the Internet Explorer to the state, which was when the Microsoft Windows was installed on your computer.
