Remove potentially unwanted software using MS Windows Control Panel

Check out the MS Windows Control Panel (Programs and Features section) to see all installed programs. We suggest to click on the “Date Installed” in order to sort the list of software by the date you installed them. If you see any unknown and suspicious programs, they are the ones you need to remove.

Click the Windows logo, and then press Search windows search. Type ‘Control panel’and press Enter as shown on the image below.

Once the ‘Control Panel’ opens, click the ‘Uninstall a program’ link under Programs category like below.

Windows 7, Vista, XP

Open Start menu and select the ‘Control Panel’ at right as shown on the image below.

Then go to ‘Add/Remove Programs’ or ‘Uninstall a program’ (Windows 7 or Vista) as shown in the figure below.

Carefully browse through the list of installed applications and delete all applications which has the name like “Mysearches.info”. We recommend to click ‘Installed programs’ and even sorts all installed programs by date. After you have found anything suspicious that may be the hijacker infection, adware or PUPs, then select this program and click ‘Uninstall’ in the upper part of the window. If the suspicious program blocked from removal, then run Revo Uninstaller Freeware to fully remove it from your computer.

Remove Mysearches.info search from Internet Explorer

If you find that Microsoft Internet Explorer internet browser settings like newtab, homepage and search engine by default having been hijacked, then you may restore your settings, via the reset browser procedure.

First, run the Internet Explorer. Next, click the button in the form of gear (Internet Explorer tools menu icon). It will display the Tools drop-down menu, click the “Internet Options” as displayed below.

In the “Internet Options” window click on the Advanced tab, then click the Reset button. The IE will show the “Reset Internet Explorer settings” window as shown in the figure below. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box, then click “Reset” button.

You will now need to restart your personal computer for the changes to take effect.

Remove Mysearches.info from Firefox by resetting browser settings

First, start the Firefox. Next, press the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (Mozilla Firefox menu button). It will show the drop-down menu. Next, click the Help button (Mozilla Firefox help button).

In the Help menu click the “Troubleshooting Information”. In the upper-right corner of the “Troubleshooting Information” page click on “Refresh Firefox” button as displayed on the image below.

Confirm your action, press the “Refresh Firefox”.

Fix web-browser shortcuts, altered by Mysearches.info browser hijacker

Important to know, most antimalware applications that are able to remove hijacker, but unable to detect and recover modified shortcuts. So, you need to fix the desktop shortcuts for your Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Edge web-browsers manually.

Right click on the shortcut of infected web browser as displayed in the figure below.

Select the “Properties” option and it’ll show a shortcut’s properties. Next, click the “Shortcut” tab and then delete the “http://site.address” string from Target field as displayed below.

After the downloading process is finished, close all software and windows on your computer. Double-click the set up file called mb3-setup. If the “User Account Control” dialog box pops up as on the image below, click the “Yes” button.

It will open the “Setup wizard” that will help you install MalwareBytes Free on your PC system. Follow the prompts and don’t make any changes to default settings.

Once installation is done successfully, click Finish button. MalwareBytes will automatically start and you can see its main screen as on the image below.

Now press the “Scan Now” button to begin scanning your personal computer for the browser hijacker which cause Mysearches.info web-page to appear. While the MalwareBytes Free program is scanning, you may see number of objects it has identified as threat.

Further, click “Scan” button to perform a system scan for the browser hijacker that redirects your browser to undesired Mysearches.info site.
