Very carefully look around the entire list of installed programs. Most likely, one or more of them are responsible for the web browser redirect to unwanted hotchatdate.com ads. If you have many programs installed, you can help simplify the search of malicious software by sort the list by date of installation. Once you have found a suspicious, unwanted or unused program, right click to it and press ‘Uninstall’.

Delete hotchatdate.com pop-ups from Chrome

Like other modern browsers, the Chrome has the ability to reset the settings to their default values and thereby remove the redirect to hotchatdate.com annoying ads which is caused by the ad supported software.

At first, run the Google Chrome. Next, click the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (google chrome menu button). It will appear the main menu. Click on the option named “Settings”. The Google Chrome will display the confirmation prompt. You need to confirm your action, click the “Reset” button. The program will start the task of cleaning. When it’s finished, the web-browser settings including the ‘block pop-ups’ option back to the values that have been when the Google Chrome was first installed on your computer.

Remove hotchatdate.com advertisements from Firefox

If the Mozilla Firefox settings have been modified by the adware, then resetting it to the default state can help you to delete the redirect onto hotchatdate.com web-site.

First, start the Firefox and press Firefox menu button button. It will display the drop-down menu on the right-part of the internet browser. Next, click the Help button (Firefox help button) as shown in the figure below.

Delete hotchatdate.com ads from Microsoft Internet Explorer

First, launch the Internet Explorer, then click Internet Explorer tools menu icon button. Next, press “Internet Options” like below.

In the “Internet Options” screen select the Advanced tab. Next, click the “Reset” button. The IE will show the “Reset Internet Explorer” settings prompt. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box and press Reset button.

It will restore the Internet Explorer’s settings such as homepage, new tab page and search engine by default to default state, disable ad-supported web-browser’s extensions and thereby get rid of the redirect to hotchatdate.com annoying web site.

Remove unwanted Scheduled Tasks

If the unwanted hotchatdate.com web site opens automatically on Windows startup or at equal time intervals, then you need to check the Task Scheduler Library and remove all the tasks that have been created by ‘ad-supported’ programs.

Press Windows and R keys on the keyboard at the same time. This opens a prompt that titled as Run. In the text field, type “taskschd.msc” (without the quotes) and press OK. Task Scheduler window opens. In the left-hand side, click “Task Scheduler Library”, as shown on the image below.

In the middle part you will see a list of installed tasks. Select the first task, its properties will be open just below automatically. Next, press the Actions tab. Pay attention to that it launches on your personal computer. Found something like “explorer.exe http://site.address” or “chrome.exe http://site.address”, then you need delete it. If you are not sure that executes the task, check it through a search engine. If it’s a component of the ‘ad-supported’ software, then this task also should be removed.

Having defined the task that you want to remove, then click on it with the right mouse button and select Delete as on the image below.

Repeat this step, if you have found a few tasks that have been created by adware. Once is complete, close the Task Scheduler window.

  2. At the download page, click the Download button. Your browser will show the “Save as” prompt. Please save it onto your desktop.
  3. Once the download process is finished, please close all applications and open windows on your computer. Double-click on the icon that’s named mb3-setup.
  4. This will run the Setup wizard of Malwarebytes onto your system. Follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
  5. Once the Setup wizard has finished installing, the malware remover will start and open the main window.
  6. Further, click the “Scan Now” button . This will begin scanning the whole PC to find out adware that redirects your web browser to the hotchatdate.com annoying web-site. This process can take quite a while, so please be patient.
