Once the downloading process is finished, close all programs and windows on your computer. Double-click the set up file named mb3-setup. If the “User Account Control” dialog box pops up as shown on the image below, click the “Yes” button.
It will open the “Setup wizard” that will help you install Malwarebytes on your computer. Follow the prompts and don’t make any changes to default settings.
Once installation is finished successfully, press Finish button. Malwarebytes will automatically start and you can see its main screen as shown on the screen below.
Now click the “Scan Now” button to start scanning your PC system for the HTML/ScrInject.B and other malware. When a malware is found, the number of the security threats will change accordingly. Wait until the the scanning is done. Please be patient.

Once the download is finished, open the file location and double-click the AdwCleaner icon. It will run the AdwCleaner utility and you will see a screen like below. If the User Account Control dialog box will ask you want to display the program, press Yes button to continue.
Next, click “Scan” for scanning your system for the HTML/ScrInject.B and other malware and adware.

- Double-click on the KVRT icon found on your desktop. Once initialization process is finished, you will see the Kaspersky virus removal tool screen.
- Click Change Parameters and set a check near all your drives. Click OK to close the Parameters window.
- Press Start scan button. Kaspersky virus removal tool will now start scanning your computer for known infections. This procedure can take some time, so please be patient.
- When KVRT has finished scanning, click on Continue to start a cleaning process.
Disinfect browser’s shortcuts
Right click on the shortcut of infected browser as shown in the figure below.
Select the “Properties” option and it’ll show a shortcut’s properties. Next, press the “Shortcut” tab and then delete the “http://site.address” string from Target field as shown on the screen below.
Then click OK to save changes. Repeat the step for all web browsers which are infected by the HTML/ScrInject.B trojan.
Reset web-browser’s settings
Chrome
p>If your Chrome internet browser is re-directed to unknown web-pages, it may be necessary to completely reset your web-browser application to its default settings.
First run the Chrome. Next, press the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (). It will display the main menu. Further, click the option named “Settings”. Another way to open the Google Chrome’s settings – type chrome://settings in the web browser adress bar and press Enter.
The web-browser will display the settings screen. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the “Show advanced settings” link. Now scroll down until the “Reset settings” section is visible, as on the image below and click the “Reset settings” button.
The Google Chrome will open the confirmation prompt. You need to confirm your action, press the “Reset” button. The browser will start the task of cleaning. When it’s finished, the web browser’s settings including homepage, new tab and default search engine back to the values that have been when the Google Chrome was first installed on your computer.
Firefox
The FF reset will keep your personal information such as bookmarks, passwords, web form auto-fill data and remove unwanted search engine and startpage, modified preferences, extensions and security settings.
First, run the Firefox and press button. It will show the drop-down menu on the right-part of the web browser. Further, click the Help button () as shown in the figure below

In the Help menu, select the “Troubleshooting Information” option. Another way to open the “Troubleshooting Information” screen – type “about:support” in the web-browser adress bar and press Enter. It will open the “Troubleshooting Information” page as shown in the figure below. In the upper-right corner of this screen, click the “Refresh Firefox” button.
It will open the confirmation prompt. Further, click the “Refresh Firefox” button. The FF will start a procedure to fix your problems that caused by the HTML/ScrInject.B trojan. Once, it’s complete, click the “Finish” button.
Internet Explorer
To restore the homepage and search engine, and other settings that have been changed by HTML/ScrInject.B trojan, you need to reset the Internet Explorer to the state, which was when the Windows was installed on your machine.
First, start the Internet Explorer, then click ‘gear’ icon . It will open the Tools drop-down menu on the right part of the browser, then click the “Internet Options” like below.
In the “Internet Options” screen, select the “Advanced” tab, then press the “Reset” button. The Microsoft Internet Explorer will open the “Reset Internet Explorer settings” prompt. Further, press the “Delete personal settings” check box to select it. Next, click the “Reset” button like below.
Once the process is done, click “Close” button. Close the Microsoft Internet Explorer and reboot your computer for the changes to take effect. This step will help you to restore your web browser’s start page and search provider by default to default state.
