Remove SecuritySoldier (Uninstall instructions)

SecuritySoldier is a new rogue antispyware program from WiniGuard family. It looks like an antispyware but in reality SecuritySoldier does not offer any protection to PC. SecuritySoldier is designed to trick you into thinking that your computer is infected by using fake security alerts and false system scan results.

When the rogue is installed, SecuritySoldier will be configured to run automatically every time, when you start your computer. Also installer of the program will create a lot of harmless files with random names. These files during a system scan will determine as infections. Once running, SecuritySoldier starts scanning the computer and found a lot of infections, but all these infections are fake, so you can safely ignore them.

When SecuritySoldier is running you will be shown nag screens, fake security alerts, notifications from Windows task bar and other pop-ups. It will state that your computer is not protected, is infected or is under attack by an Internet virus. However, all of these alerts are a fake and like scan false results should be ignored. Also SecuritySoldier will show a fake Windows Security Center that will recommend you use the software. Instead of doing so, use these SecuritySoldier removal instructions below in order to remove the rogue and any associated malware from your computer for free.

Symptoms in a HijackThis Log

O23 – Service: SecuritySoldier Security Service (SecuritySoldierSvc) – Unknown owner – C:\Program Files\SecuritySoldier Software\SecuritySoldier\SecuritySoldierSvc.exe (file missing)

Use the following instructions to remove SecuritySoldier (Uninstall instructions)

Download MalwareBytes Anti-malware (MBAM). Close all programs and Windows on your computer.

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application. When the installation begins, keep following the prompts in order to continue with the installation process. Do not make any changes to default settings and when the program has finished installing, make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware, then click Finish.

If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.

Once the program has loaded you will see window similar to the one below.

Select Perform Quick Scan, then click Scan, it will start scanning your computer for SecuritySoldier infection. This procedure can take some time, so please be patient.

When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results. You will see a list of infected items similar as shown below. Note: list of infected items may be different than what is shown in the image below.

Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected for start SecuritySoldier removal process. When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.
