  8. Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear.
Select the Last Known Good Configuration

    Run it.
Once finished, try uninstall procedure again.

  19. I tried removing with the combofix /u ,but all it does is simply run the program, not uninstall.

    Comment by Dani — November 24, 2009 #

  20. Dani,
    1. Re-download combofix and place it to your desktop.
    2. Try uninstall procedure once again. You should use next command:

    combofix /uninstall

    space between “combofix” and “/uninstall”

  21. Hi,

I used combofix and after tried to ‘deinstall’ it by running combofix /u but it seems like it wont set the setting back. I still see the Qoobox and programdata folders. I redownloaded teh fiel twice now and the log says:
    ******
    ComboFix 09-11-28.04 – Bas 11/29/2009 15:15.3.2 – x86
    Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 6.1.7600.0.1252.1.1033.18.2046.1188 [GMT 1:00]
    Running from: c:\users\Bas\Desktop\ComboFix.exe
    Command switches used :: /u
    ****

    What to do now? Thx

  22. Please use the following command:

    combofix /uninstall

    Comment by Patrik — November 29, 2009 #

  23. aha, that seems to ‘work’. I did see the messge that it is uninstalled. Altough I still see some of the hidden folders ($recycle.Bin / Diskeeper / MSOCache / Perflogs / Recovery) and one combofix folder (Programdata). The folder Qoobox did disappear.

(When I go to my folder options the settings hide protect folders is checked.)

    What to try next?

Comment by Henk de koning — November 29, 2009 #

  24. These folders are ok.

    What to try next?

Post your combofix log in our Spyware removal forum. I will check it.

  25. Hello,

I was trying to use your command “combofix /uninstall”, but after I press Enter, it appears me a message that says:”Windows cannot find combofix /uninstall. Make sure that you typed correctly….etc”. Why can he find Combofix? I see it in C: partition, and Qoobox also.
    What is the problem?

    Comment by Daniel — January 10, 2010 #

  26. Daniel, re-download it and save to desktop.
Run, once finished, start the removal procedure once again.

    Comment by Patrik — January 10, 2010 #

  27. Thank you! I worked fine :)
But, off-topic speaking, i have some blue screen errors. Where can I find out some answers regarding this?

    Comment by Daniel — January 10, 2010 #

  28. only combofix worked on virus. it did explode the locked reovery files on d drive for one. it added an extra restore mode for the other system.

    but thanks again

    Comment by Charles — April 21, 2010 #

  30. Charles, download a fresh copy of Combofix and save it to your desktop. Run, once finished, repeat the uninstall procedure above.

  32. Tried to run combofix, but it wanted to download ‘Windows recovery console’. Well as I had disabled all security protection as requested, I did not want to connect to the internet. After following the instructions to uninstall combofix, it is still on my computer, and just tries to run again when I select ‘combofix /uninstall’

    Help!

    Comment by Chris — August 11, 2010 #

  33. Chris, you have disabled your Antivirus before Combofix uninstall procedure ?
