The Congratulations Dear Amazon Customer displays a pop-up containing a message that the visitor’s IP-address has been selected to receive a free iPhone 11 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S9 or Samsung Galaxy Tab. The scam states that in order to receive a prize, the visitor must answer a few simple questions, which are presented in the form of an online survey.

Once this is done, the visitor is prompted to select a prize and then provide additional information: first name, last name, address, etc. The information collected in this way can be used to make fraudulent purchases and unauthorized transfers, sold to criminals on the dark web, or other malicious purposes. Moreover, the criminals behind this scam can use stolen email addresses and phone numbers to send spam and malspam (spam emails containing malware or links to malware).
