Scleriends.website pop-ups are a social engineering attack that is designed to deceive users into subscribing to browser notifications. Browser push notifications are originally created to alert users of recently published content. Cyber criminals abuse ‘push notifications’ to avoid anti-virus and ad blocking applications by displaying intrusive adverts. These ads are displayed in the lower right corner of the screen urges users to play online games, visit suspicious web-pages, install web browser plugins & so on.

The Scleriends.website website displays the message ‘Click Allow to’ (watch a video, connect to the Internet, access the content of the webpage, enable Flash Player, download a file), asking the user to subscribe to notifications. Once you click ALLOW, then your browser will be configured to show pop-up advertisements in the lower right hand corner of your desktop.

You need to confirm your action, click the “Reset” button. The web browser will run the process of cleaning. After it’s complete, the web browser’s settings including newtab, start page and search provider back to the values which have been when the Chrome was first installed on your PC.

Delete Scleriends.website advertisements from Firefox

If the Firefox settings such as newtab page, homepage and search engine have been changed by the adware software, then resetting it to the default state can help. Keep in mind that resetting your web-browser will not remove your history, bookmarks, passwords, and other saved data.

In order to restore all web-browser newtab page, startpage and search provider by default you need to reset the Internet Explorer to the state, which was when the Microsoft Windows was installed on your device.
