SwiftEngine is an unwanted program from Adware (also known as ‘adware software’) category. Adware delivers undesired ads on your computer. Some of these advertisements are scams or fake advertisements made to trick you. Even the harmless advertisements can become really irritating. Remove SwiftEngine related programs through the Finder

It’s of primary importance to first identify and get rid of all potentially unwanted software, adware software applications and browser hijackers through the ‘Applications’ section of the Finder.

It will show a list of all apps installed on your computer. Scroll through the all list, and remove any dubious and unknown applications. Right click to dubious program and select “Move to Trash”. Another way is drag the application from the Applications folder to the Trash.

Delete SwiftEngine adware from Safari

If you find that Safari web browser settings such as search provider by default, home page and newtab page having been modified by SwiftEngine that causes multiple annoying advertisements and pop ups, then you may return your settings, via the reset web browser procedure.

Click Safari menu and select “Preferences”.

It will open the Safari Preferences window. Next, click the “Extensions” tab. Look for unknown and suspicious add-ons on left panel, choose it, then press the “Uninstall” button. Most important to delete all unknown extensions from Safari.

Once complete, click “General” tab. Change the “Default Search Engine” to Google.

Find the “Homepage” and type into textfield “https://www.google.com”.

Remove SwiftEngine from Google Chrome

Reset Chrome will assist you to remove SwiftEngine ads from your internet browser as well as to recover web browser settings hijacked by adware software. All unwanted, harmful and ‘ad-supported’ extensions will also be deleted from the browser. It will keep your personal information such as browsing history, bookmarks, passwords and web form auto-fill data.

  1. First launch the Chrome and click Menu button (small button in the form of three dots).
  2. It will show the Google Chrome main menu. Choose More Tools, then press Extensions.
  3. You’ll see the list of installed extensions. If the list has the extension labeled with “Installed by enterprise policy” or “Installed by your administrator”, then complete the following instructions: Remove Chrome extensions installed by enterprise policy.
  4. Now open the Chrome menu once again, press the “Settings” menu.
  5. You will see the Chrome’s settings page. Scroll down and press “Advanced” link.
  6. Scroll down again and click the “Reset” button.
  7. The Google Chrome will open the reset profile settings page as on the image above.
  8. Next press the “Reset” button.
  9. Once this procedure is complete, your web browser’s home page, default search provider and new tab page will be restored to their original defaults.

Get rid of Swift Engine from Mozilla Firefox

Resetting Firefox web browser will reset all the settings to their default state and will remove SwiftEngine ads, malicious add-ons and extensions. However, your saved passwords and bookmarks will not be changed, deleted or cleared.

Run the Mozilla Firefox and click the menu button (it looks like three stacked lines) at the top right of the web browser screen. Next, press the question-mark icon at the bottom of the drop-down menu. It will show the slide-out menu.

Select the “Troubleshooting information”. If you are unable to access the Help menu, then type “about:support” in your address bar and press Enter. It bring up the “Troubleshooting Information” page as shown on the image below.

Click the “Refresh Firefox” button at the top right of the Troubleshooting Information page. Select “Refresh Firefox” in the confirmation prompt. The Firefox will start a procedure to fix your problems that caused by SwiftEngine adware. After, it is done, click the “Finish” button.
