Remove Mega Media Start from Mozilla Firefox

If the Firefox web browser home page, newtab page and default search engine are changed to Mega Media Start and you want to recover the settings back to their original settings, then you should follow the instructions below. However, your themes, bookmarks, history, passwords, and web form auto-fill information will not be deleted.

First, open the Firefox. Next, press the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (Firefox menu button). It will open the drop-down menu. Next, click the Help button (Firefox help button).

Remove Mega Media Start from Chrome

Reset Chrome will reset your start page, new tab page, search provider, and other web-browser settings hijacked by Mega Media Start browser hijacker. All unwanted and malicious plugins will also be deleted from the web-browser. However, your saved passwords and bookmarks will not be changed, deleted or cleared.

First launch the Google Chrome. Next, click the button in the form of three horizontal dots (Chrome menu button).

It will open the Google Chrome menu. Choose More Tools, then click Extensions. Carefully browse through the list of installed plugins. If the list has the extension signed with “Installed by enterprise policy” or “Installed by your administrator”, then complete the following tutorial: Remove Chrome extensions installed by enterprise policy.

Open the Chrome menu once again. Further, press the option named “Settings”.

The browser will show the settings screen. Another way to show the Google Chrome’s settings – type chrome://settings in the web-browser adress bar and press Enter

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and press the “Advanced” link. Now scroll down until the “Reset” section is visible, as shown in the figure below and click the “Reset settings to their original defaults” button.

The Google Chrome will display the confirmation dialog box as shown in the figure below.

You need to confirm your action, click the “Reset” button. The web-browser will run the procedure of cleaning. After it’s finished, the web-browser’s settings including search engine by default, newtab page and homepage back to the values that have been when the Google Chrome was first installed on your personal computer.

After the downloading process is finished, close all software and windows on your system. Double-click the install file named mb3-setup. If the “User Account Control” prompt pops up as displayed in the following example, click the “Yes” button.
