Uninstall potentially unwanted apps through the Windows Control Panel

Check out the Windows Control Panel (Programs and Features section) to see all installed apps. We recommend to click on the “Date Installed” in order to sort the list of software by the date you installed them. If you see any unknown and dubious programs, they are the ones you need to delete.

Press Windows button Microsoft Windows key, then press Search MS Windows search. Type “Control panel”and press Enter. If you using Windows XP or Windows 7, then press “Start” and select “Control Panel”. It will display the Windows Control Panel like below.

It will open a list of all software installed on your machine. Scroll through the all list, and delete any dubious and unknown apps.

Remove Yahoo! Powered from Firefox

If the Firefox settings like search engine by default, home page and newtab have been changed by the Yahoo! Powered browser hijacker, then resetting it to the default state can help. Press the Menu button (looks like three horizontal lines), and press the blue Help icon located at the bottom of the drop down menu as displayed in the following example.

Delete Yahoo! Powered search from Internet Explorer

By resetting IE internet browser you restore your internet browser settings to its default state. This is basic when troubleshooting problems that might have been caused by hijacker infection like Yahoo! Powered.

First, run the Internet Explorer, click IE tools menu icon) button. Next, click “Internet Options” as displayed in the figure below.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the “Advanced” link. Now scroll down until the “Reset” section is visible, as displayed on the image below and click the “Reset settings to their original defaults” button.

You need to confirm your action, click the “Reset” button. The browser will start the task of cleaning. When it is complete, the web-browser’s settings including newtab, search provider by default and home page back to the values that have been when the Google Chrome was first installed on your PC system.
