Check out the Windows Control Panel (Programs and Features section) to see all installed software. When downloading is finished, open the directory in which you saved it. You will see an icon like below.

Double click the HitmanPro desktop icon. After the utility is started, you will see a screen as shown on the image below.

Further, press “Next” button . Hitman Pro program will scan through the whole PC system for the Wauchos malware and other security threats. This process may take quite a while, so please be patient. Get rid of Wauchos virus from Firefox

If the Mozilla Firefox browser newtab, start page and default search provider are changed by the Wauchos virus and you want to restore the settings back to their default state, then you should follow the guide below. However, your saved bookmarks and passwords will not be lost. This will not affect your history, passwords, bookmarks, and other saved data.

First, run the Firefox and press Mozilla Firefox menu button button. It will open the drop-down menu on the right-part of the browser. Further, click the Help button (Firefox help button) as on the image below.

In the Help menu, select the “Troubleshooting Information” option. Another way to open the “Troubleshooting Information” screen – type “about:support” in the web browser adress bar and press Enter. It will display the “Troubleshooting Information” page as displayed in the figure below. In the upper-right corner of this screen, click the “Refresh Firefox” button.

It will show the confirmation dialog box. Further, click the “Refresh Firefox” button. The Firefox will start a task to fix your problems that caused by the virus and other security threats. Once, it’s complete, press the “Finish” button.

Remove Wauchos virus from Google Chrome

Another solution to remove changes to browser settings created by Wauchos virus is Reset Chrome settings. This will disable malicious addons and reset Chrome settings including home page, default search provider and newtab page to default values. Essential information such as bookmarks, browsing history, passwords, cookies, auto-fill data and personal dictionaries will not be removed.

  1. First, start the Chrome and press the Menu icon (icon in the form of three dots).
  2. It will open the Chrome main menu. Choose More Tools, then press Extensions.
  3. You will see the list of installed add-ons. If the list has the extension labeled with “Installed by enterprise policy” or “Installed by your administrator”, then complete the following guidance: Remove Chrome extensions installed by enterprise policy.
  4. Now open the Google Chrome menu once again, click the “Settings” menu.
  5. Next, click “Advanced” link, that located at the bottom of the Settings page.
  6. On the bottom of the “Advanced settings” page, click the “Reset settings to their original defaults” button.
  7. The Chrome will open the reset settings dialog box as on the image above.
  8. Confirm the web-browser’s reset by clicking on the “Reset” button.

Get rid of Wauchos malware from IE

If you find that Internet Explorer browser settings had been affected by the Wauchos malware, then you may restore your settings, via the reset browser procedure.

First, launch the IE. Next, click the button in the form of gear (Internet Explorer tools menu icon). It will display the Tools drop-down menu, click the “Internet Options” as displayed on the image below.

In the “Internet Options” window click on the Advanced tab, then press the Reset button. The Internet Explorer will open the “Reset Internet Explorer settings” window as on the image below. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box, then click “Reset” button.

You will now need to reboot your computer for the changes to take effect.
