Press Windows and R keys on your keyboard simultaneously. It will show a prompt which titled with Run. In the text field, type “taskschd.msc” (without the quotes) and click OK. Task Scheduler window opens. In the left-hand side, press “Task Scheduler Library”, as displayed on the screen below.

Remove JS:Cryptonight virus from Firefox

Resetting your Firefox is basic troubleshooting step for any issues with your web-browser application, including the JS:Cryptonight infection. It will keep your personal information such as browsing history, bookmarks, passwords and web form auto-fill data.

First, open the Firefox. Next, press the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (Mozilla Firefox menu button). It will open the drop-down menu. Next, click the Help button (Mozilla Firefox help button).

Like other modern internet browsers, the Google Chrome has the ability to reset the settings to their default values and thereby recover the web browser’s settings that have been changed by the JS:Cryptonight malware.

  1. First launch the Google Chrome and press Menu button (small button in the form of three dots).
  2. It will display the Google Chrome main menu. Choose More Tools, then click Extensions.
  3. You will see the list of installed extensions. If the list has the addon labeled with “Installed by enterprise policy” or “Installed by your administrator”, then complete the following guidance: Remove Chrome extensions installed by enterprise policy.
  4. Now open the Google Chrome menu once again, press the “Settings” menu.
  5. You will see the Google Chrome’s settings page. Scroll down and click “Advanced” link.
  6. Scroll down again and press the “Reset” button.
  7. The Chrome will display the reset profile settings page as shown on the screen above.
  8. Next press the “Reset” button.
  9. Once this process is finished, your web browser’s startpage, default search provider and new tab will be restored to their original defaults.

By resetting Microsoft Internet Explorer browser you revert back your browser settings to its default state. This is first when troubleshooting problems that might have been caused by JS:Cryptonight virus.
