First, run the Mozilla Firefox and click Mozilla Firefox menu button button. It will show the drop-down menu on the right-part of the browser. Further, click the Help button (Mozilla Firefox help button) as shown in the following example

Another way to open the “Troubleshooting Information” screen – type “about:support” in the internet browser adress bar and press Enter. It will display the “Troubleshooting Information” page as displayed in the figure below. In the upper-right corner of this screen, press the “Refresh Firefox” button.

It will show the confirmation dialog box. Further, click the “Refresh Firefox” button. The Mozilla Firefox will begin a procedure to fix your problems that caused by the hijacker infection which designed to redirect your browser to the Default-search.net web page. First, launch the Microsoft Internet Explorer, then click ‘gear’ icon Internet Explorer tools menu icon. It will display the Tools drop-down menu on the right part of the web-browser, then press the “Internet Options” as shown on the image below.

In the “Internet Options” screen, select the “Advanced” tab, then click the “Reset” button. The Microsoft Internet Explorer will show the “Reset Internet Explorer settings” prompt. Further, click the “Delete personal settings” check box to select it. Next, press the “Reset” button as shown on the screen below.

When the process is finished, click “Close” button. Close the IE and reboot your machine for the changes to take effect. This step will help you to restore your browser’s home page, new tab page and search engine by default to default state.

Fix infected browsers shortcuts to delete Default-search.net

Unfortunately, the browser hijacker can also hijack Windows shortcuts (mostly, your web-browsers shortcuts), so that the Default-search.net home page will be displayed when you launch the Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge or another web-browser.

Right click to a desktop shortcut for your web browser. Choose the “Properties” option. It will open the Properties window. Select the “Shortcut” tab here, after that, look at the “Target” field.
