Windows XP, Vista, 7
First, click ‘Start’ button and select ‘Control Panel’ at right panel as shown in the figure below.
Once the Windows ‘Control Panel’ opens, you need to click ‘Uninstall a program’ under ‘Programs’ as shown in the figure below.
You will see a list of applications installed on your personal computer. We recommend to sort the list by date of installation to quickly find the software that were installed last. A browser hijacker infection can hijack various Windows shortcuts on your desktop (most often, all web-browsers shortcuts), so in this step you need to check and clean them by removing the argument such as http://site.address/.
To clear the web browser shortcut, right-click to it and select Properties. On the Shortcut tab, locate the Target field. Click inside, you will see a vertical line – arrow pointer, move it (using -> arrow key on your keyboard) to the right as possible. Remove New Browse from Firefox
First, launch the Mozilla Firefox. Next, press the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (). It will show the drop-down menu. Next, press the Help button ().
In the Help menu click the “Troubleshooting Information”. In the upper-right corner of the “Troubleshooting Information” page click on “Refresh Firefox” button as displayed in the following example.
Confirm your action, click the “Refresh Firefox”.
Get rid of New Browse from Chrome
If your Google Chrome web browser is redirected to undesired “New Browse” web page, it may be necessary to completely reset your web-browser program to its default settings.
First launch the Google Chrome. Next, click the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (). It will open the main menu. Further, press the option named “Settings”. Another way to open the Google Chrome’s settings – type chrome://settings in the web browser adress bar and press Enter.
The web browser will show the settings screen. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the “Show advanced settings” link. Now scroll down until the “Reset settings” section is visible, as displayed in the following example and click the “Reset settings” button.
The Google Chrome will display the confirmation prompt. You need to confirm your action, click the “Reset” button. The browser will run the task of cleaning. When it’s finished, the internet browser’s settings including homepage, newtab page and default search provider back to the values that have been when the Google Chrome was first installed on your system.

Once downloading is done, close all applications and windows on your PC system. Open a directory in which you saved it. Double-click on the icon that’s called Zemana.AntiMalware.Setup as shown on the screen below.
When the install begins, you will see the “Setup wizard” which will help you setup Zemana on your computer.
Once install is complete, you will see window as on the image below.
Now click the “Scan” button to start checking your personal computer for the browser hijacker infection that cause “New Browse” web-site to appear. Depending on your PC, the scan can take anywhere from a few minutes to close to an hour. When a threat is detected, the number of the security threats will change accordingly. Once downloading is complete, close all programs and windows on your machine. Double-click the setup file called mb3-setup. If the “User Account Control” dialog box pops up as shown below, click the “Yes” button.
It will open the “Setup wizard” that will help you install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) on your system. Follow the prompts and don’t make any changes to default settings.
Once installation is complete successfully, click Finish button. MalwareBytes Free will automatically start and you can see its main screen like below.
Now click the “Scan Now” button to start scanning your computer for the browser hijacker infection that causes browsers to show undesired “New Browse” page. A scan may take anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the number of files on your system and the speed of your computer. While the MalwareBytes tool is checking, you can see number of objects it has identified as being infected by malicious software.
Once the checking is finished, MalwareBytes Free will show a list of found items. Review the report and then press “Quarantine Selected” button. The MalwareBytes AntiMalware will remove hijacker that changes browser settings to replace your startpage, newtab page and search engine by default with “New Browse” site and add threats to the Quarantine. - Select the directory in which you saved it as Desktop, and then press Save.
- Once the download is finished, start the AdwCleaner, double-click the adwcleaner_xxx.exe file.
- If the “User Account Control” prompts, click Yes to continue.
- In the AdwCleaner window, press the “Scan” . AdwCleaner utility will start scanning the whole PC to find out hijacker that cause “New Browse” page to appear. This process can take quite a while, so please be patient. When a malicious software, adware or PUPs are detected, the number of the security threats will change accordingly. Wait until the the scanning is finished.
- After AdwCleaner completes the scan, AdwCleaner will show a list of all items found by the scan. You may move threats to Quarantine (all selected by default) by simply click “Clean”. If the AdwCleaner will ask you to restart your computer, click “OK”.
