How to remove Adult ads [Block Adult sites]

Technically, the adware is not a virus, but it does bad things, it can show a lot of pop-up ads including Adult ads. How to remove Adult ads without any software

Reset Chrome settings is a easy way to remove the adware, harmful and adware extensions, as well as to restore the internet browser’s newtab page, home page and search engine by default that have been modified by ad-supported software that cause intrusive Adult pop up ads to appear.

Remove Adult redirect from Internet Explorer

In order to restore all web browser newtab, homepage and search provider by default you need to reset the Internet Explorer to the state, which was when the Windows was installed on your computer.

First, run the Internet Explorer. Next, press the button in the form of gear (Internet Explorer tools menu icon). It will open the Tools drop-down menu, click the “Internet Options” as displayed on the screen below.

In the “Internet Options” window click on the Advanced tab, then click the Reset button. The Internet Explorer will open the “Reset Internet Explorer settings” window as on the image below. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box, then click “Reset” button.

You will now need to reboot your PC for the changes to take effect.

Remove Adult pop-up advertisements from Firefox

Resetting your FF is good initial troubleshooting step for any issues with your web-browser program, including the redirect to Adult sites.

First, run the Firefox. Next, click the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (Mozilla Firefox menu button). It will open the drop-down menu. Next, press the Help button (Firefox help button).

In the Help menu click the “Troubleshooting Information”. In the upper-right corner of the “Troubleshooting Information” page click on “Refresh Firefox” button as shown on the image below.

Confirm your action, click the “Refresh Firefox”.

Clean up the browsers shortcuts which have been hijacked by adware

After the adware is started, it can also change the web browser’s shortcuts, adding an argument similar to “http://site.address” into the Target field. Due to this, every time you start the web browser, it will show an undesired Adult site.

Open the properties of the web browser shortcut. Right click on the shortcut of infected web-browser and choose the “Properties” option and it’ll show the properties of the shortcut. Next, choose the “Shortcut” tab and have a look at the Target field as displayed on the screen below.

Normally, if the last word in the Target field is chrome.exe, iexplore.exe, firefox.exe. Be sure to pay attention to the extension, should be “exe”! All shortcuts that have been modified by adware usually point to .bat, .cmd or .url files instead of .exe as shown in the figure below

Another variant, an address has been added at the end of the line. In this case the Target field looks like …Application\chrome.exe” http://site.address as displayed below.

In order to fix a shortcut, you need to insert right path to the Target field or remove an address (if it has been added at the end). You can use the following information to fix your shortcuts which have been altered by adware.

Once is done, click OK to save changes. Repeat the step for all internet browsers which are rerouted to the Adult web sites.

Remove unwanted Scheduled Tasks

If an unwanted Adult site or Adult ads opens automatically on Windows startup or at equal time intervals, then you need to check the Task Scheduler Library and remove all the tasks which have been created by ‘ad-supported’ application.

Press Windows and R keys on the keyboard together. This shows a dialog box that called Run. In the text field, type “taskschd.msc” (without the quotes) and click OK. Task Scheduler window opens. In the left-hand side, press “Task Scheduler Library”, as displayed below.

In the middle part you will see a list of installed tasks. Please select the first task, its properties will be display just below automatically. Next, click the Actions tab. Pay attention to that it launches on your computer. Found something like “explorer.exe http://site.address” or “chrome.exe http://site.address”, then remove this malicious task. If you are not sure that executes the task, check it through a search engine. If it’s a component of the malicious programs, then this task also should be removed.

Having defined the task that you want to delete, then click on it with the right mouse button and select Delete as shown in the figure below.

Repeat this step, if you have found a few tasks that have been created by adware. Once is finished, close the Task Scheduler window.

Adult pop-up ads automatic removal

The adware can hide its components which are difficult for you to find out and delete completely. This can lead to the fact that after some time, the ‘ad supported’ software that causes multiple annoying Adult ads once again infect your personal computer. Now press the “Scan Now” button . MalwareBytes AntiMalware tool will begin scanning the whole computer to find out ‘ad supported’ software that causes a ton of annoying Adult popup ads. Depending on your machine, the scan can take anywhere from a few minutes to close to an hour. While the MalwareBytes Anti Malware application is scanning, you can see how many objects it has identified as threat.

After that process is finished, you can check all threats detected on your PC. Make sure all threats have ‘checkmark’ and press “Quarantine Selected” button. The MalwareBytes Anti Malware (MBAM) will begin to remove ad supported software that causes lots of unwanted Adult ads. After disinfection is complete, you may be prompted to reboot the PC.
