Carefully browse through the list of installed programs and delete all programs that has the name similar to the Mobilemonetize.me web-page. We recommend to press ‘Installed programs’ and even sorts all installed software by date. After you have found anything suspicious that may be the browser hijacker, ‘ad supported’ software or potentially unwanted applications, then select this program and click ‘Uninstall’ in the upper part of the window. If the suspicious program blocked from removal, then run Revo Uninstaller Freeware to fully remove it from your PC.

Clean up the browsers shortcuts which have been hijacked by adware

After installed, this ad-supported software may add an argument such as “http://site.address” into the Target property of the desktop shortcut for the Google Chrome, Firefox, IE and Microsoft Edge. Due to this, every time you open the web-browser, it will open an unwanted ad web-site.

Open the properties of the browser shortcut. Right click on the shortcut of infected web browser and choose the “Properties” option and it will show the properties of the shortcut. Next, choose the “Shortcut” tab and have a look at the Target field as on the image below.

Normally, if the last word in the Target field is chrome.exe, iexplore.exe, firefox.exe. Be sure to pay attention to the extension, should be “exe”! All shortcuts that have been modified by ad-supported software like Mobilemonetize.me usually point to .bat, .cmd or .url files instead of .exe as shown in the figure below

Another variant, an address has been added at the end of the line. In this case the Target field looks such as …Application\chrome.exe” http://site.address as on the image below.

Once is finished, press OK to save changes. Repeat the step for all browsers that are redirected to the Mobilemonetize.me unwanted site.

Get rid of Mobilemonetize.me from Firefox by resetting browser settings

If your Mozilla Firefox browser is re-directed to Mobilemonetize.me without your permission or an unknown search engine shows results for your search, then it may be time to perform the internet browser reset.

Start the FF and click the menu button (it looks like three stacked lines) at the top right of the internet browser screen. Next, click the question-mark icon at the bottom of the drop-down menu. It will open the slide-out menu.

Click the “Refresh Firefox” button at the top right of the Troubleshooting Information page. Select “Refresh Firefox” in the confirmation prompt. The Firefox will begin a task to fix your problems that caused by the ad-supported software. Once, it’s finished, press the “Finish” button.

Get rid of Mobilemonetize.me advertisements from Internet Explorer

If you find that IE browser settings such as home page, newtab page and default search engine having been replaced by ad supported software that causes a ton of annoying Mobilemonetize.me ads, then you may restore your settings, via the reset web-browser procedure.

First, run the Microsoft Internet Explorer. Next, press the button in the form of gear (Internet Explorer tools menu icon). It will show the Tools drop-down menu, click the “Internet Options” like below.

Use the Reset internet browser utility of the Chrome to reset all its settings like homepage, new tab page and default search engine to original defaults. This is a very useful utility to use, in the case of browser redirects to annoying ad web pages like Mobilemonetize.me.

  1. First, launch the Chrome and press the Menu icon (icon in the form of three horizontal stripes).
  2. It will display the Google Chrome main menu, press the “Settings” menu.
  3. Next, click “Show advanced settings” link, that located at the bottom of the Settings page.
  4. On the bottom of the “Advanced settings” page, press the “Reset settings” button.
  5. The Google Chrome will display the reset settings dialog box as shown on the screen above.

Get rid of unwanted Scheduled Tasks

Once installed, the ad-supported software can add a task in to the Windows Task Scheduler Library. Due to this, every time when you open your PC, it will open Mobilemonetize.me intrusive web-page. So, you need to check the Task Scheduler Library and remove all malicious tasks that have been created by adware.

Press Windows and R keys on your keyboard at the same time. It will display a prompt which titled with Run. In the text field, type “taskschd.msc” (without the quotes) and click OK. Task Scheduler window opens. In the left-hand side, press “Task Scheduler Library”, as on the image below.

In the middle part you will see a list of installed tasks. Select the first task, its properties will be display just below automatically. Next, press the Actions tab. Necessary to look at the text which is written under Details. Found something such as “explorer.exe http://site.address” or “chrome.exe http://site.address” or “firefox.exe http://site.address”, then you need delete this task. If you are not sure that executes the task, then google it. If it’s a component of the ‘ad-supported’ program, then this task also should be removed.

Repeat this step, if you have found a few tasks that have been created by adware. Once is done, close the Task Scheduler window.
