How to remove plyit.stream pop-ups [Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge]

Remove suspicious and unknown programs by using Windows Control Panel

First, you should try to identify and remove the program that causes the appearance of annoying ads and internet browser redirect to unwanted web-pages, using the ‘Uninstall a program’ which is located in the ‘Control panel’.

Very carefully look around the entire list of installed software. Most likely, one or more of them are responsible for the internet browser redirect to unwanted plyit.stream pop-up ads. If you have many programs installed, you can help simplify the search of malicious software by sort the list by date of installation. Once you have found a suspicious, unwanted or unused application, right click to it and press ‘Uninstall’.

First, press ‘Start’ button and select ‘Control Panel’ at right panel as shown on the image below.

You will see a list of programs installed on your system. We recommend to sort the list by date of installation to quickly find the software that were installed last. If you are in doubt, you can always check the application by doing a search for her name in Google, Yahoo or Bing. When the application, you need to remove, is found, simply click on its name, and then click ‘Uninstall’ as shown on the image below.

Disinfect the browser’s shortcuts to remove plyit.stream redirect

When the ad-supported software is started, it can also modify the web-browser’s shortcuts, adding an argument similar “http://site.address” into the Target field. Due to this, every time you start the web-browser, it will be redirected to an annoying ads.

To clear the web browser shortcut, right-click to it and select Properties. On the Shortcut tab, locate the Target field. Click inside, you will see a vertical line – arrow pointer, move it (using -> arrow key on your keyboard) to the right as possible. Remove plyit.stream pop-up ads from FF

If the Mozilla Firefox settings have been modified by the adware, then resetting it to the default state can help you to delete the reroute onto plyit.stream page.

First, start the FF and click Firefox menu button button. It will display the drop-down menu on the right-part of the browser. Next, press the Help button (Firefox help button) as shown below.

Another way to open the “Troubleshooting Information” screen – type “about:support” in the internet browser address bar and press Enter. It will display the “Troubleshooting Information” page like below. In the upper-right corner of this screen, press the “Refresh Firefox” button.

It will show the confirmation dialog box, click the “Refresh Firefox” button. The FF will start a procedure to fix your problems that caused by the ‘ad supported’ software. Once it’s finished, click the “Finish” button

Remove plyit.stream pop-ups from Chrome

Reset Google Chrome settings is a easy way to get rid of the malware and adware, as well as to restore the browser’s settings that have been changed by ‘ad supported’ software.

Remove plyit.stream advertisements from Internet Explorer

First, start the Internet Explorer, then click the button in the form of gear (Microsoft Internet Explorer tools menu icon). It will open the Tools drop-down menu as shown below. Next, press the “Internet Options”.

In the Internet Options window click on the Advanced tab, then click the Reset button. The Microsoft Internet Explorer will display the “Reset Internet Explorer settings” window as shown on the screen below. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box, then press on “Reset” button.

You will now need to restart your personal computer for the changes to take effect.

Remove unwanted Scheduled Tasks

If the unwanted plyit.stream web-site opens automatically on Windows startup or at equal time intervals, then you need to check the Task Scheduler Library and delete all the tasks that have been created by adware.

Press Windows and R keys on the keyboard at the same time. This opens a prompt that titled with Run. In the text field, type “taskschd.msc” (without the quotes) and click OK. Task Scheduler window opens. In the left-hand side, press “Task Scheduler Library”, as on the image below.

In the middle part you will see a list of installed tasks. Select the first task, its properties will be display just below automatically. Next, click the Actions tab. Pay attention to that it launches on your system. Found something like “explorer.exe http://site.address” or “chrome.exe http://site.address”, then you need get rid of it. If you are not sure that executes the task, check it through a search engine. If it’s a component of the malicious software, then this task also should be removed.

Having defined the task that you want to delete, then press on it with the right mouse button and select Delete like below.

Once downloaded, close all applications and windows on your computer. Open a directory in which you saved it. Double-click on the icon that’s named mb3-setup like below.
