The journal-good.org web-site appeared on your system without any notice? First, you should try to identify and delete the application that causes the appearance of unwanted ads and internet browser redirect to unwanted web-pages, using the ‘Uninstall a program’ which is located in the ‘Control panel’.

Very carefully look around the entire list of installed programs. Most likely, one or more of them are responsible for the browser redirect to unwanted journal-good.org advertisements. If you have many programs installed, you can help simplify the search of malicious programs by sort the list by date of installation. Once you have found a suspicious, unwanted or unused application, right click to it and press ‘Uninstall’.

If you are in doubt, you can always check the program by doing a search for her name in Google, Yahoo or Bing. Get rid of journal-good.org ads from Firefox

If the Firefox settings have been changed by the adware, then resetting it to the default state can help you to remove the redirect onto journal-good.org web-site.

First, launch the Mozilla Firefox and click FF menu button button. It will open the drop-down menu on the right-part of the web browser. Next, click the Help button (FF help button) as shown on the screen below.

It will open the “Troubleshooting Information” page like below. In the upper-right corner of this screen, click the “Refresh Firefox” button.

It will display the confirmation dialog box, click the “Refresh Firefox” button. The Mozilla Firefox will start a task to fix your problems that caused by the adware. When it’s complete, click the “Finish” button

Delete journal-good.org pop-ups from Google Chrome

Like other modern web browsers, the Google Chrome has the ability to reset the settings to their default values and thereby remove the redirect to journal-good.org unwanted advertisements which is caused by the adware.

At first, launch the Chrome. Next, click the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (google chrome menu button). It will appear the main menu. Click on the option named “Settings”. Another way to open the Google Chrome’s settings – type chrome://settings in the web browser adress bar and press Enter.

The web browser will open the settings screen. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the “Show advanced settings” link. Now scroll down until the “Reset settings” section is visible, as shown in the figure below and click the “Reset settings” button.

The Google Chrome will open the confirmation prompt. You need to confirm your action, click the “Reset” button. The program will start the task of cleaning. Once it is done, the browser settings including the ‘block pop-ups’ option back to the values that have been when the Google Chrome was first installed on your personal computer.

First, launch the IE, then click Internet Explorer tools menu icon button. Next, press “Internet Options” as shown on the image below.

In the “Internet Options” screen select the Advanced tab. Next, click the “Reset” button. The Internet Explorer will show the “Reset Internet Explorer” settings prompt. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box and click Reset button.

It will restore the Internet Explorer’s settings such as homepage and search engine by default to default state, disable ad-supported web-browser’s extensions and thereby remove the redirect to journal-good.org unwanted page.

Remove unwanted Scheduled Tasks

Once installed, the ad supported software can add a task in to the Windows Task Scheduler Library. Due to this, every time when you launch your computer, it will show journal-good.org unwanted web-page. So, you need to check the Task Scheduler Library and delete all tasks that have been created by adware.

Press Windows and R keys on your keyboard together. It will display a prompt which titled as Run. In the text field, type “taskschd.msc” (without the quotes) and press OK. Task Scheduler window opens. In the left-hand side, click “Task Scheduler Library”, as shown in the figure below.

In the middle part you will see a list of installed tasks. Select the first task, its properties will be open just below automatically. Next, click the Actions tab. Necessary to look at the text which is written under Details. Found something like “explorer.exe http://site.address” or “chrome.exe http://site.address” or “firefox.exe http://site.address”, then you need remove this task. If you are not sure that executes the task, then google it. If it is a component of the ‘ad-supported’ software, then this task also should be removed.

Further click on it with the right mouse button and select Delete as shown below.

Repeat this step, if you have found a few tasks that have been created by adware. Once is complete, close the Task Scheduler window.

Once downloading is complete, close all windows on your personal computer. Further, launch the file named mb3-setup. If the “User Account Control” prompt pops up as on the image below, click the Yes button.

It will open the “Setup wizard” that will help you install Malwarebytes on the computer. Follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.

Once the installation is finished successfully, click Finish button. Then Malwarebytes will automatically start and you can see its main window as shown below.

Next, click the “Scan Now” button to begin checking your machine for the malware and ‘ad supported’ software that cause the journal-good.org ads. When a threat is found, the number of the detected objects will change accordingly. Wait until the the checking is finished. Please be patient.
