How to remove Windows Defence Master (Removal guide)

Windows Defence MasterWindows Defence Master is not a legitimate security program, it is a fake antispyware tool,  part of the Win32/FakeVimes rouges family. Nothing new here, like before, the rogue claims that the user’s computer have been compromised by malware that can not be removed unless you pay for a full version of the program. This is of course nothing more but a scam. Do not purchase this software and uninstall Windows Defence Master from your PC upon detection. If you have already pay for the program, contact your credit card company and tell them what has happened.

Windows Defence Master is distributed with the help trojans, online ads that are disguised as anti-virus scanners and misleading websites that supposedly provide free videos and software. So always think about any file that you will be prompted to download from the Internet.

Once installed, Windows Defence Master will perform a system scan and detect numerous infections or system security threats. It states that your computer is infected with Trojans, adware or malware and that you should purchase Windows Defence Master to remove these infections. Important to realize that all these “infections” are all fake and do not actually exist on your computer. So,  you may easily ignore them.

What is more, Windows Defence Master may block legitimate antivirus from running, hijack your Internet browser, display various misleading notifications. It may also block the Task Manager, Regedit and even disable system restore.

As you can see, Windows Defence Master is dangerous and definitely not wanted on your computer. Anyway, don’t purchase the fake antispyware tool. Use a reputable antivirus program to scan your computer and remove Windows Defence Master. Also read a removal guide written below to see instructions how it can be eliminated manually step-by-step.

Use the following instructions to remove Windows Defence Master (Uninstall instructions)

Download MalwareBytes Anti-malware (MBAM). Close all programs and Windows on your computer.

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application. When the installation begins, keep following the prompts in order to continue with the installation process. Do not make any changes to default settings and when the program has finished installing, make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware, then click Finish.

If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.

Once the program has loaded you will see window similar to the one below.

Select Perform Quick Scan, then click Scan, it will start scanning your computer for Windows Defence Master infection. This procedure can take some time, so please be patient.

When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results. You will see a list of infected items similar as shown below. Note: list of infected items may be different than what is shown in the image below.

Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected for start Windows Defence Master removal process. When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.
