Random websites (ads, spam) keep opening up on Google Chrome browser. What should I do? If I have an “adware”, how would I go about deleting it? I was hoping someone might be able to help me.

Unwanted ads, spam and so on are obvious signs of adware on your computer. To find and remove adware, I recommend that you follow these steps:

  • check the list of installed programs and remove all suspicious and unknown applications (To do this, open the Windows control panel)
  • run the Google Chrome browser, open the extension manager, remove all unknown and suspicious extensions, moreover, I recommend that you temporarily disable all extensions, even those that you trust
  • reset Google Chrome settings (your personal information will not be deleted)
  • scan your computer with free malware removal tool (AdwCleaner, Zemana, Malwarebytes)
