Searches.today in detail

When your browser is hijacked, you will be forced to use Searches.today as your search engine. And because Searches.today isn’t a real search engine and doesn’t have the ability to find the information you need, it redirects your internet browser to the Google search engine.

This may seem harmless, but you should still be very careful as it may display intrusive and harmful ads designed to trick you into buying some questionable programs or products, provide search results that may redirect your browser to some deceptive, misleading or malicious pages. The Searches.today redirect cannot be removed from the browser directly, but can be removed by uninstalling a browser hijacker (browser extension) associated with it.

Searches.today can collect all kinds of information, including: IP addresses, web browser version and type, usernames and passwords, Internet Service Provider (ISP), internet cookies, webpages visited, auto-fill browser settings, and URLs visited. Such kind of behavior can lead to serious security problems or privacy info theft. This is another reason why the browser hijacker should be removed as quickly as possible.
