How to manually delete Windows Manager

The adware can modify your Google Chrome settings without your knowledge. You may see an unknown web page as your search engine or start page, additional extensions and toolbars. However, your saved passwords and bookmarks will not be changed, deleted or cleared.

  1. First, run the Google Chrome and click the Menu icon (icon in the form of three dots).
  2. It will open the Google Chrome main menu. Choose More Tools, then click Extensions.
  3. You’ll see the list of installed extensions. If the list has the extension labeled with “Installed by enterprise policy” or “Installed by your administrator”, then complete the following guide: Remove Chrome extensions installed by enterprise policy.
  4. Now open the Chrome menu once again, click the “Settings” menu.
  5. Next, press “Advanced” link, which located at the bottom of the Settings page.
  6. On the bottom of the “Advanced settings” page, click the “Reset settings to their original defaults” button.
  7. The Google Chrome will show the reset settings prompt as shown on the image above.
  8. Confirm the internet browser’s reset by clicking on the “Reset” button.

Remove Windows Manager from Firefox by resetting internet browser settings

The Mozilla Firefox reset will delete redirects to unwanted web-sites, modified preferences, extensions and security settings. However, your themes, bookmarks, history, passwords, and web form auto-fill information will not be deleted.

Click the Menu button (looks like three horizontal lines), and click the blue Help icon located at the bottom of the drop down menu as shown on the screen below.

Remove Windows Manager adware from IE

By resetting Internet Explorer browser you revert back your web-browser settings to its default state. This is first when troubleshooting problems that might have been caused by the Windows Manager adware.

First, start the Internet Explorer, click Internet Explorer tools menu icon) button. Next, press “Internet Options” as displayed in the following example.

In the “Internet Options” screen select the Advanced tab. Next, click Reset button. The Microsoft Internet Explorer will show the Reset Internet Explorer settings dialog box. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box and press Reset button.
