  4. Now open the Google Chrome menu once again, click the “Settings” menu.
  5. You will see the Chrome’s settings page. Scroll down and click “Advanced” link.
  6. Scroll down again and press the “Reset” button.
  7. The Google Chrome will show the reset profile settings page as on the image above.
  8. Next click the “Reset” button.
  9. Once this process is done, your web-browser’s homepage, search engine and newtab page will be restored to their original defaults.

Remove SearchRange adware from Mozilla Firefox

If the Mozilla Firefox internet browser is hijacked by SearchRange and you want to restore the Firefox settings back to their default state, then you should follow the step-by-step instructions below. Your saved bookmarks, form auto-fill information and passwords won’t be cleared or changed.

Start the Mozilla Firefox and click the menu button (it looks like three stacked lines) at the top right of the internet browser screen. Next, click the question-mark icon at the bottom of the drop-down menu. It will display the slide-out menu.

Select the “Troubleshooting information”. If you’re unable to access the Help menu, then type “about:support” in your address bar and press Enter. It bring up the “Troubleshooting Information” page as shown below.

Click the “Refresh Firefox” button at the top right of the Troubleshooting Information page. Select “Refresh Firefox” in the confirmation prompt. The Mozilla Firefox will begin a task to fix your problems that caused by the SearchRange adware. Once, it’s done, click the “Finish” button.

Get rid of SearchRange from Safari

If you find that Safari browser settings such as search engine, newtab page and startpage having been changed by the SearchRange adware, then you may return your settings, via the reset web-browser procedure.

Click Safari menu and choose “Preferences”.

Once complete, click “General” tab. Change the “Default Search Engine” to Google.
