Get rid of Varenyky virus from Google Chrome

Reset Google Chrome settings is a simple way to delete changes to web-browser settings, malicious and adware software extensions, as well as to restore the internet browser’s newtab, home page and default search engine that have been changed by Varenyky virus.

Remove Varenyky virus from Firefox

Resetting your Firefox is basic troubleshooting step for any issues with your web-browser program. When using the reset feature, your personal information such as passwords, bookmarks, browsing history and web form auto-fill data will be saved.

Run the Mozilla Firefox and click the menu button (it looks like three stacked lines) at the top right of the web-browser screen. Next, click the question-mark icon at the bottom of the drop-down menu. It will display the slide-out menu.

Select the “Troubleshooting information”. If you are unable to access the Help menu, then type “about:support” in your address bar and press Enter. It bring up the “Troubleshooting Information” page as shown in the following example.

Click the “Refresh Firefox” button at the top right of the Troubleshooting Information page. Select “Refresh Firefox” in the confirmation prompt. The Firefox will begin a procedure to fix your problems that caused by the Varenyky virus. When, it’s finished, click the “Finish” button.

Delete Varenyky virus from Internet Explorer

If you find that IE web browser settings had been infected by the Varenyky virus, then you may revert back your settings, via the reset web browser procedure.

First, launch the Microsoft Internet Explorer, then click ‘gear’ icon IE tools menu icon. It will open the Tools drop-down menu on the right part of the browser, then click the “Internet Options” as shown on the image below.

In the “Internet Options” screen, select the “Advanced” tab, then click the “Reset” button. The Internet Explorer will display the “Reset Internet Explorer settings” dialog box. Further, click the “Delete personal settings” check box to select it. Next, press the “Reset” button as shown in the figure below.

When the procedure is complete, click “Close” button. Close the Microsoft Internet Explorer and restart your system for the changes to take effect. This step will help you to restore your web-browser’s default search provider, newtab and start page to default state.

Use AdBlocker to stay safe online

To put it simply, you need to use an ad blocker utility (AdGuard, for example). It will stop and protect you from all undesired web-sites, ads and pop-ups. To be able to do that, the ad-blocker program uses a list of filters. Each filter is a rule that describes a malicious web site, an advertising content, a banner and others. The adblocker program automatically uses these filters, depending on the websites you’re visiting.

  2. When downloading is done, run the downloaded file. You will see the “Setup Wizard” program window. Follow the prompts.
