How to delete Rapid-search.org redirect without any software

If you perform exactly the steps below you should be able to remove the Rapid-search.org from the Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer and Google Chrome browsers.

Uninstall Rapid-search.org associated software by using MS Windows Control Panel

Then go to ‘Add/Remove Programs’ or ‘Uninstall a program’ (Microsoft Windows 7 or Vista) as on the image below.

Carefully browse through the list of installed software and remove all dubious and unknown software. We suggest to click ‘Installed programs’ and even sorts all installed applications by date. After you have found anything questionable that may be the hijacker responsible for modifying your web browser settings to Rapid-search.org or other potentially unwanted application (PUA), then select this program and press ‘Uninstall’ in the upper part of the window. If the dubious application blocked from removal, then run Revo Uninstaller Freeware to fully get rid of it from your PC system.

Remove Rapid-search.org home page from Internet Explorer

By resetting IE internet browser you return your web-browser settings to its default state. This is good initial when troubleshooting problems that might have been caused by hijacker such as Rapid-search.org.

First, launch the Internet Explorer, then press ‘gear’ icon IE tools menu icon. It will show the Tools drop-down menu on the right part of the web browser, then press the “Internet Options” like below.

In the “Internet Options” screen, select the “Advanced” tab, then press the “Reset” button. The Internet Explorer will display the “Reset Internet Explorer settings” dialog box. Further, press the “Delete personal settings” check box to select it. Next, click the “Reset” button as shown in the figure below.

Once the task is complete, click “Close” button. Close the Microsoft Internet Explorer and reboot your PC system for the changes to take effect. This step will help you to restore your web-browser’s newtab page, startpage and search provider by default to default state.

Remove Rapid-search.org from Chrome

In this step we are going to show you how to reset Chrome settings. potentially unwanted applications such as the Rapid-search.org can make changes to your web browser settings including startpage, search engine by default and newtab page, add toolbars and unwanted plugins. By resetting Chrome settings you will delete Rapid-search.org and reset unwanted changes caused by hijacker. It’ll keep your personal information such as browsing history, bookmarks, passwords and web form auto-fill data.

First open the Chrome. Next, press the button in the form of three horizontal dots (Google Chrome menu button).

If the list has the addon signed with “Installed by enterprise policy” or “Installed by your administrator”, then complete the following steps: Remove Google Chrome extensions installed by enterprise policy.

Open the Google Chrome menu once again. Further, press the option called “Settings”.

The browser will open the settings screen. Another method to display the Chrome’s settings – type chrome://settings in the web-browser adress bar and press Enter

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and press the “Advanced” link. Now scroll down until the “Reset” section is visible, like below and click the “Reset settings to their original defaults” button.

The Google Chrome will display the confirmation prompt as shown in the following example.

You need to confirm your action, click the “Reset” button. The web-browser will start the process of cleaning. Once it is complete, the web-browser’s settings including newtab page, search provider and home page back to the values that have been when the Google Chrome was first installed on your PC.

Once downloading is finished, close all software and windows on your personal computer. Open a directory in which you saved it. Double-click on the icon that’s named Zemana.AntiMalware.Setup as shown on the screen below.

Once the downloading process is finished, open the directory in which you saved it and double-click the Hitman Pro icon. It will launch the HitmanPro utility. If the User Account Control prompt will ask you want to start the program, click Yes button to continue.

Next, click “Next” to perform a system scan for the browser hijacker responsible for redirecting your web browser to Rapid-search.org site. A scan can take anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the count of files on your machine and the speed of your PC system. While the Hitman Pro is scanning, you can see count of objects it has identified either as being malicious software.

  2. Once the downloading process is finished, close all apps and windows on your system. Open a folder in which you saved it. Double-click on the icon that’s named mb3-setup.
