  2. At the download page, click on the Download button. Your web-browser will show the “Save as” prompt. Please save it onto your Windows desktop.
  3. After the download is finished, please close all software and open windows on your system. Double-click on the icon that’s named mb3-setup.
  4. This will open the “Setup wizard” of MalwareBytes Anti Malware (MBAM) onto your computer. Follow the prompts and don’t make any changes to default settings.
  5. When the Setup wizard has finished installing, the MalwareBytes Free will launch and show the main window.
  6. Further, click the “Scan Now” button to begin checking your system for the Trojan.GenericKD virus and other malicious software and potentially unwanted programs. Delete Trojan.GenericKD virus from Google Chrome

If you have malicious software problem or the Chrome is running slow, then reset Google Chrome settings can help you. In the steps below we will show you a solution to reset your Chrome settings to original settings without reinstall. This will also help to remove changes to browser settings created by Trojan.GenericKD virus.

  1. First, start the Google Chrome and click the Menu icon (icon in the form of three dots).
  2. It will display the Chrome main menu. Choose More Tools, then click Extensions.
  3. You will see the list of installed extensions. If the list has the extension labeled with “Installed by enterprise policy” or “Installed by your administrator”, then complete the following steps: Remove Chrome extensions installed by enterprise policy.
  4. Now open the Chrome menu once again, press the “Settings” menu.

  6. On the bottom of the “Advanced settings” page, press the “Reset settings to their original defaults” button.
  7. The Chrome will open the reset settings dialog box as shown on the screen above.
  8. Confirm the web browser’s reset by clicking on the “Reset” button.

Delete Trojan.GenericKD virus from Mozilla Firefox

If your Firefox browser settings are affected by the Trojan.GenericKD virus, then it may be time to perform the web browser reset. It will save your personal information like saved passwords, bookmarks, auto-fill data and open tabs.

Press the Menu button (looks like three horizontal lines), and click the blue Help icon located at the bottom of the drop down menu like below.

Follow the onscreen procedure to revert back your Mozilla Firefox web-browser settings to their original settings.

Get rid of Trojan.GenericKD virus from Internet Explorer

By resetting Internet Explorer browser you restore your web browser settings to its default state. This is first when troubleshooting problems that might have been caused by the Trojan.GenericKD .

First, open the Microsoft Internet Explorer, press Internet Explorer tools menu icon) button. Next, click “Internet Options” like below.

In the “Internet Options” screen select the Advanced tab. Next, click Reset button. The IE will open the Reset Internet Explorer settings prompt. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box and click Reset button.

It will delete virus related files, folders and registry keys, disable malicious and ad-supported internet browser’s extensions and restore the IE’s settings such as new tab page, search provider by default and startpage to default state.

How to stay safe online

To put it simply, you need to use an adblocker tool (AdGuard, for example). It will stop and protect you from all intrusive web-pages, advertisements and popups. To be able to do that, the adblocker application uses a list of filters. Each filter is a rule that describes a malicious web-page, an advertising content, a banner and others. The ad-blocking program automatically uses these filters, depending on the webpages you are visiting.

Once the download is done, double-click the downloaded file to launch it. The “Setup Wizard” window will show up on the computer screen as displayed on the screen below.

Each time, when you launch your system, AdGuard will launch automatically and block unwanted popup ads, as well as other harmful or misleading web sites.
