Some PUPs, browser hijacking apps and adware can be deleted by uninstalling the freeware they came with. If this way does not succeed, then looking them up in the list of installed programs in Windows Control Panel. Use the “Uninstall” command in order to delete them.

Press Windows button MS Windows key, then press Search Windows search. Type “Control panel”and press Enter. If you using Windows XP or Windows 7, then click “Start” and select “Control Panel”. It will show the Windows Control Panel as shown below.

Remove unwanted scheduled tasks created by Adware.Amonetize

Once installed, the Adware.Amonetize can add a task in to the Windows Task Scheduler Library. Due to this, every time when you boot your personal computer, it will show an annoying site. So, you need to check the Task Scheduler Library and remove all malicious tasks which have been created by malicious program.

Press Windows and R keys on your keyboard together. It will show a dialog box which called Run. In the text field, type “taskschd.msc” (without the quotes) and click OK. Task Scheduler window opens. In the left-hand side, click “Task Scheduler Library”, as shown in the following example.

In the middle part you will see a list of installed tasks. Select the first task, its properties will be show just below automatically. Next, press the Actions tab. Necessary to look at the text which is written under Details. If you are not sure that executes the task, then google it. If it’s a component of the ‘ad-supported’ application, then this task also should be removed.

Further press on it with the right mouse button and select Delete as shown in the following example.

Repeat this step, if you have found a few tasks that have been created by the Adware.Amonetize. Once is done, close the Task Scheduler window.

Remove Adware.Amonetize from Google Chrome

If your Google Chrome web-browser is redirected to annoying ads, it may be necessary to completely reset your browser application to its default settings.

Open the Google Chrome menu by clicking on the button in the form of three horizontal dotes (chrome menu button). It will show the drop-down menu. Select More Tools, then press Extensions.

Carefully browse through the list of installed extensions. If the list has the addon labeled with “Installed by enterprise policy” or “Installed by your administrator”, then complete the following instructions: Remove Chrome extensions installed by enterprise policy otherwise, just go to the step below.

Open the Chrome main menu again, click to “Settings” option.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the “Advanced” link. Now scroll down until the Reset settings section is visible, as displayed on the image below and press the “Reset settings to their original defaults” button.

Confirm your action, press the “Reset” button.

Delete Adware.Amonetize ad-supported software from IE

By resetting Internet Explorer browser you revert back your internet browser settings to its default state. This is basic when troubleshooting problems that might have been caused by Adware.Amonetize that causes lots of unwanted advertisements.

First, launch the Internet Explorer, click Microsoft Internet Explorer tools menu icon) button. Next, click “Internet Options” as displayed in the figure below.

In the “Internet Options” screen select the Advanced tab. Next, click Reset button. The Internet Explorer will display the Reset Internet Explorer settings dialog box. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box and click Reset button.

You will now need to reboot your computer for the changes to take effect. It will remove Adware.Amonetize ad supported software that causes multiple unwanted advertisements and pop ups, disable malicious and ad-supported web browser’s extensions and restore the Internet Explorer’s settings like search provider, new tab and start page to default state.

Delete Adware.Amonetize adware from Firefox

If your Firefox web browser is rerouted to unwanted ads without your permission or an unknown search engine displays results for your search, then it may be time to perform the internet browser reset.

First, run the Mozilla Firefox. Next, press the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (Firefox menu button). It will show the drop-down menu. Next, press the Help button (Mozilla Firefox help button).

Confirm your action, click the “Refresh Firefox”.

Disinfect the internet browser’s shortcuts to delete Adware.Amonetize redirect

Now you need to clean up the web-browser shortcuts. Check that the shortcut file referring to the right exe-file of the web browser, and not on any unknown file.

Select the “Properties” option and it’ll display the shortcut file’s properties. Next, click the “Shortcut” tab and then delete the “http://site.address” string from Target field like below.
