Delete Timecrom.com related software through the Control Panel of your machine

In order to remove PUPs such as this ad supported software, open the Microsoft Windows Control Panel and click on “Uninstall a program”. Check the list of installed software. For the ones you do not know, run an Internet search to see if they are adware, hijacker or potentially unwanted software. If yes, delete them off. Remove unwanted Scheduled Tasks

Once installed, the adware can add a task in to the Windows Task Scheduler Library. Due to this, every time when you launch your PC system, it will open Timecrom.com intrusive web-page. So, you need to check the Task Scheduler Library and remove all harmful tasks that have been created by ‘ad-supported’ program.

Press Windows and R keys on the keyboard together. This opens a dialog box that titled with Run. In the text field, type “taskschd.msc” (without the quotes) and press OK. Task Scheduler window opens. In the left-hand side, click “Task Scheduler Library”, as displayed on the screen below.

In the middle part you will see a list of installed tasks. Please select the first task, its properties will be show just below automatically. Next, press the Actions tab. Pay attention to that it launches on your computer. Found something like “explorer.exe http://site.address” or “chrome.exe http://site.address”, then get rid of this malicious task. If you are not sure that executes the task, check it through a search engine. If it is a component of the malicious program, then this task also should be removed.

Having defined the task that you want to remove, then click on it with the right mouse button and select Delete as shown in the following example.

Repeat this step, if you have found a few tasks which have been created by adware. Once is finished, close the Task Scheduler window.

Fix infected internet browsers shortcuts to remove Timecrom.com redirect

Important to know, most antimalware programs that are able to get rid of ad-supported software, but unable to find and recover changed shortcuts. So, you need to fix the desktop shortcuts for your Chrome, Internet Explorer, FF and Edge internet browsers manually.

Open the properties of the web browser shortcut. Right click on the shortcut of infected browser and choose the “Properties” option and it’ll open the properties of the shortcut. Next, choose the “Shortcut” tab and have a look at the Target field like below.

Normally, if the last word in the Target field is chrome.exe, iexplore.exe, firefox.exe. Be sure to pay attention to the extension, should be “exe”! All shortcuts which have been changed by ad-supported software like Timecrom.com usually point to .bat, .cmd or .url files instead of .exe as shown on the screen below

Another variant, an address has been added at the end of the line. In this case the Target field looks like …Application\chrome.exe” http://site.address as shown on the image below.

In order to fix a shortcut, you need to insert right path to the Target field or remove an address (if it has been added at the end). You can use the following information to fix your shortcuts that have been changed by ad supported software.

Once is finished, press OK to save changes. Repeat the step for all web browsers that are redirected to the Timecrom.com intrusive web-site.

Get rid of Timecrom.com from Firefox by resetting browser settings

Resetting your FF is good initial troubleshooting step for any issues with your browser program, including the redirect to Timecrom.com web site.

Run the FF and click the menu button (it looks like three stacked lines) at the top right of the web-browser screen. Next, press the question-mark icon at the bottom of the drop-down menu. It will show the slide-out menu.

Select the “Troubleshooting information”. If you’re unable to access the Help menu, then type “about:support” in your address bar and press Enter. It bring up the “Troubleshooting Information” page as displayed in the figure below.

Click the “Refresh Firefox” button at the top right of the Troubleshooting Information page. Select “Refresh Firefox” in the confirmation dialog box. The Firefox will start a task to fix your problems that caused by the adware which cause annoying Timecrom.com pop up advertisements to appear. When, it’s complete, press the “Finish” button.

If your Google Chrome web browser is redirected to annoying Timecrom.com web-page, it may be necessary to completely reset your web-browser program to its default settings.

Open the Chrome menu by clicking on the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (Google Chrome menu button). It will display the drop-down menu. Next, click to “Settings” option.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the “Show advanced settings” link. Now scroll down until the Reset settings section is visible, as shown in the following example and click the “Reset settings” button.

Confirm your action, click the “Reset” button.

Remove Timecrom.com redirect from IE

If you find that IE web browser settings such as new tab page, startpage and search engine by default having been modified by ‘ad supported’ software that causes a lot of unwanted Timecrom.com popup advertisements, then you may return your settings, via the reset web-browser procedure.

First, start the Microsoft Internet Explorer, press Internet Explorer tools menu icon) button. Next, click “Internet Options” as shown below.
