ByteFence redirect – How to remove (Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge)

Myantispyware team June 9, 2017

Are you open your favorite browser and do not see usual homepage, which is set earlier? The ByteFence or search.bytefence.com site is the first thing which pop up once you run your internet browser? It means that an obnoxious browser hijacker gets installed into your personal computer. If you get it on your computer, this unwanted software can modify certain web-browser’s settings such as startpage, new tab page and default search provider. So, the ByteFence can be opened when you create a new tab in your web browser, or when you try to search for any information within the Google Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge, because the browser hijacker modifies the internet browser’s search provider.

Except that the ByteFence makes changes to web-browser’s startpage and newtab page, it also changes your search engine, which leads to the fact that use of the browser’s search becomes uncomfortable. The reason for this is that the search results will consist of lots of ads, links to unwanted and ad web pages and only the remaining part is search results for your query from well-known search engines like Google or Bing.

Often, the PC system that has been infected with ByteFence hijacker infection, will be also infected with adware (also known as ‘ad-supported’ software) which displays a large amount of various ads. It can be pop-ups, text links in the web pages, banners where they never had. What is more, the adware can replace the legitimate ads with malicious advertisements that will offer to download and install malicious software and unwanted software or visit the various dangerous and misleading web-sites.

It’s important, don’t use ByteFence web page and do not click on ads placed on it, as they may lead you to a more harmful or misleading sites. The best option is to use the steps posted below to free your PC system of browser hijacker infection, remove the ByteFence start page, and thereby return your previous home page and search provider.
