How to remove vellings.info redirect [Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge]

The vellings.info is a web-page that opens unwanted pop-ups and can redirect to other ad pages. If the Chrome, FF, IE and Microsoft Edge displays this page then most probably that your computer is infected with an adware (sometimes called ‘ad-supported’ software). The ‘ad supported’ software is an unwanted software that is going to display you tons of popup ads and deals. Of course, it’s not a malware or virus in the “general meaning” of this word. It’ll not delete or damage your files, but it can alter some machine’s settings or download and install other dangerous applications. So, you’d better to remove adware using the steps below and thereby remove vellings.info redirect.

Most often, the ad-supported software affects the most common web-browsers like the Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Internet Explorer. But such the dangerous software as well may infect another web browsers by changing its shortcuts (adding an argument like ‘http://site.address’ into Target field of a web-browser’s shortcut). Uninstall suspicious and unknown programs by using Windows Control Panel

Press Windows key windows key, then click Search windows search. Type “Control panel”and press Enter. If you using Windows XP or Windows 7, then press “Start” and select “Control Panel”. It will show the Windows Control Panel as shown in the figure below.

Next, press “Uninstall a program” uninstall software panel
It will show a list of all applications. Scroll through the all list and remove any suspicious and unknown applications.

Disinfect the browser’s shortcuts to remove vellings.info redirect

Once the adware is started, it can also modify the internet browser’s shortcuts, adding an argument such as “http://site.address” into the Target field. Due to this, every time you start the browser, it will be redirected to an unwanted ads.

To clear the web browser shortcut, right-click to it and select Properties. On the Shortcut tab, locate the Target field. Click inside, you will see a vertical line – arrow pointer, move it (using -> arrow key on your keyboard) to the right as possible. You will see a text that begins with “http://” that has been added here. You need to remove it.

When the argument is removed, press the OK button. You need to clean all shortcuts of all your internet browsers, as they may be infected too.

Remove vellings.info from Mozilla Firefox

First, launch the Firefox. Next, click the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (Firefox menu button). It will open the drop-down menu. Next, press the “Help” button (FF help button).

In the Help menu, click the “Troubleshooting Information”. In the upper-right corner of the “Troubleshooting Information” page, click “Refresh Firefox” button.

Confirm your action, click the “Refresh Firefox”.

Get rid of vellings.info pop-up ads from Google Chrome

Reset Chrome settings is a simple way to delete the malicious and ad-supported extensions, as well as to restore the web browser’s home page, newtab page and search provider by default that have been modified by ad-supported software.

  1. Open the Chrome, then click the Menu icon (icon in the form of three horizontal stripes).
  2. It will open the Google Chrome main menu. Click the “Settings” menu.
  3. Next, click the “Show advanced settings” link, which located at the bottom of the Settings page.
  4. Further, click the “Reset settings” button, which located at the bottom of the Advanced settings page.
  5. The Chrome will display the reset settings dialog box as shown on the screen above.
  6. Confirm the web-browser’s reset by clicking on the “Reset” button.

Remove vellings.info ads from IE

To remove the vellings.info ads you need to reset the Internet Explorer to the state, that was when the Windows was installed on your computer.

First, run the IE, then press ‘gear’ icon Internet Explorer tools menu icon. It will show the drop-down menu on the right part of the browser, then press the “Internet Options” as shown in the figure below.

In the “Internet Options” screen, you need to select the “Advanced” tab and press the “Reset” button. The Microsoft Internet Explorer will show the “Reset Microsoft Internet Explorer settings” dialog box as shown in the figure below. Next, click the “Delete personal settings” check box to select it. After that, click the “Reset” button.

Once the task is finished, click “Close” button. Close the Microsoft Internet Explorer and restart your computer for the changes to take effect. This step will help you to restore your web-browser’s settings to default state and disable ‘ad-supported’ extensions.

Remove unwanted Scheduled Tasks

Once installed, the ad-supported software can add a task in to the Windows Task Scheduler Library. Due to this, every time when you launch your PC, it will open vellings.info annoying web-page. So, you need to check the Task Scheduler Library and delete all tasks that have been created by malicious applications.

Press Windows and R keys on your keyboard at the same time. It will display a dialog box which titled as Run. In the text field, type “taskschd.msc” (without the quotes) and click OK. Task Scheduler window opens. In the left-hand side, click “Task Scheduler Library”, as shown below.

In the middle part you will see a list of installed tasks. Select the first task, its properties will be display just below automatically. Next, press the Actions tab. Necessary to look at the text which is written under Details. Found something such as “explorer.exe http://site.address” or “chrome.exe http://site.address” or “firefox.exe http://site.address”, then you need remove this task. If you are not sure that executes the task, then google it. If it’s a component of the ‘ad-supported’ software, then this task also should be removed.

Further click on it with the right mouse button and select Delete like below.

Repeat this step, if you have found a few tasks that have been created by adware. Once is finished, close the Task Scheduler window.
