How to remove a.konflab.com redirect [Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge]

Delete suspicious and unknown applications by using Windows Control Panel

Press Windows key windows key, then click Search windows search. Type “Control panel”and press Enter.

First, press “Start” and select “Control Panel”.

It will open a list of all programs. Scroll through the all list, and delete any suspicious and unknown applications. To quickly find the latest installed software, we recommend sort software by date of installation in the Control panel.

Delete a.konflab.com from Mozilla Firefox

First, start the FF. Next, click the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (Mozilla Firefox menu button). It will open the drop-down menu. Next, click the “Help” button (Firefox help button).

In the Help menu, click the “Troubleshooting Information”. In the upper-right corner of the “Troubleshooting Information” page, click “Refresh Firefox” button.

Confirm your action, press the “Refresh Firefox”.

Remove a.konflab.com ads from Google Chrome

Reset Chrome settings is a simple way to delete the malware and ‘ad supported’ software, as well as to restore the internet browser’s settings that have been replaced by ad-supported software.

  1. Now run the Chrome and press Menu button (small button in the form of three horizontal stripes).
  2. It will display the Chrome main menu. Select “Settings” option.
  3. You will see the Google Chrome’s settings page. Scroll down and click “Show advanced settings” link.
  4. Scroll down again and press the “Reset settings” button.
  5. The Google Chrome will show the reset profile settings page as on the image above.
  6. Next, click the “Reset” button.
  7. When this procedure is done, your web-browser’s settings will be restored to their original defaults. This will reset your home page, newtab page and search provider by default.

Delete a.konflab.com pop-ups from Internet Explorer

First, launch the Microsoft Internet Explorer, then click Microsoft Internet Explorer tools menu icon button. Next, click “Internet Options” as shown in the figure below.

In the “Internet Options” screen select the Advanced tab. Next, click the “Reset” button. The Internet Explorer will open the “Reset Internet Explorer” settings dialog box. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box and click Reset button.

You will now need to restart your PC system for the changes to take effect. It will restore the IE’s settings like home page, newtab page and search provider by default to default state, disable ad-supported internet browser’s extensions and thereby delete the redirect to a.konflab.com unwanted site.

When the ad supported software is started, it can also alter the internet browser’s shortcuts, adding an argument such as “http://site.address” into the Target field. Due to this, every time you launch the browser, it will be redirected to an annoying ads.

To clear the browser shortcut, right-click to it and select Properties. On the Shortcut tab, locate the Target field. Click inside, you will see a vertical line – arrow pointer, move it (using -> arrow key on your keyboard) to the right as possible. You will see a text which begins with “http://” that has been added here. You need to remove it.

When the argument is removed, press the OK button. You need to clean all shortcuts of all your internet browsers, as they may be infected too.

Delete unwanted Scheduled Tasks

If the unwanted a.konflab.com page opens automatically on Windows startup or at equal time intervals, then you need to check the Task Scheduler Library and get rid of all the tasks that have been created by malicious software.

Press Windows and R keys on the keyboard at the same time. This displays a dialog box that titled with Run. In the text field, type “taskschd.msc” (without the quotes) and click OK. Task Scheduler window opens. In the left-hand side, click “Task Scheduler Library”, as on the image below.

In the middle part you will see a list of installed tasks. Select the first task, its properties will be show just below automatically. Next, click the Actions tab. Pay attention to that it launches on your computer. Found something like “explorer.exe http://site.address” or “chrome.exe http://site.address”, then you need delete it. If you are not sure that executes the task, check it through a search engine. If it is a component of the unwanted programs, then this task also should be removed.

Having defined the task that you want to remove, then click on it with the right mouse button and select Delete as on the image below.

Repeat this step, if you have found a few tasks that have been created by unwanted software. Once is done, close the Task Scheduler window.

Once the download is finished, close all windows on your computer. Further, open the file named mb3-setup. If the “User Account Control” dialog box pops up as shown in the figure below, click the Yes button.

It will display the “Setup wizard” which will help you install Malwarebytes on the computer. Follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.

Once the setup is complete successfully, click Finish button. Then Malwarebytes will automatically start and you can see its main window as shown on the screen below.

Next, click the “Scan Now” button for checking your PC for the malware and adware that cause the a.konflab.com ads. When a threat is found, the number of the detected objects will change accordingly. Wait until the the scanning is done. Please be patient.

Once the scan is done, you can check all threats detected on your personal computer. Make sure all entries have “checkmark” and click “Quarantine Selected” button.
