How to remove SurveyVoices pop-ups [Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge]

If you find that your browser has become show the unwanted SurveyVoices pop-ups then it’s a sign that your computer is infected with malicious software from the adware family. The adware (sometimes called ‘ad-supported’ software) is a form of unwanted software that can display a huge number of pop-ups without a user’s permission. Moreover, it can reroute the browser on malicious and misleading web-sites. Also, if you seeing that the Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer and MS Edge tries to load an unknown web-site, when you try to open a long-known site, then you do not need to wait! It’s designed to fill the web browser’s constant stream of advertisements, or redirect the web browser to not expected and intrusive advertising pages. Moreover, the adware can substitute the legitimate advertisements on misleading or even banners that can offer to visit dangerous web sites. The reason is simple, many advertisers agree on any ways to attract users to their web-pages, so the creators of ad-supported software, often forcing users to click on an advertising link. For each click on a link, the authors of the adware receive income. It is the so-called ‘Pay-Per-Click’ method.

We recommend to remove the ad-supported software, which redirects your browser on the SurveyVoices annoying page, as soon as you found this problem, as it can direct you to web-resources which may load other dangerous software on your PC system.

How does SurveyVoices ads get installed onto PC

Most often, the freeware installer includes the optional potentially unwanted applications like this ‘ad supported’ software. So, be very careful when you agree to install anything. The best way is to choose the Custom, Advanced or Manual installation mode. Here disable (uncheck) all optional software in which you are unsure or that causes even a slightest suspicion. How to manually remove SurveyVoices pop-up ads

Delete suspicious and unknown applications by using Windows Control Panel

The best way to start the PC system cleanup is to delete unknown and suspicious software. Using the Windows Control Panel you can do this quickly and easily. This step, in spite of its simplicity, should not be ignored, because the removing of unneeded programs can clean up your web browser from pop-ups, hijackers and so on.

  1. If you are using Windows 8, 8.1 or 10 then press Windows key, click Search. Type “Control panel”and press Enter.
  2. If you are using Windows XP, Vista, 7, then press “Start” button and click “Control Panel”.
  3. It’ll show the Windows Control Panel.
  4. Click “Uninstall a program” under Programs category.
  5. You will see a list of all installed software.
  6. Scroll through the all list, and delete suspicious and unknown software. To quickly find the latest installed software, we recommend sort programs by date.

Delete SurveyVoices pop-up ads from Mozilla Firefox

If the Mozilla Firefox settings have been replaced by the ad supported software, then resetting it to the default state can help you to remove the redirect onto SurveyVoices web page.

First, run the Mozilla Firefox and press FF menu button button. It will show the drop-down menu on the right-part of the browser. Next, click the Help button (FF help button) as shown in the figure below.

In the Help menu, select the “Troubleshooting Information” option. Another way to open the “Troubleshooting Information” screen – type “about:support” in the internet browser address bar and press Enter. It will open the “Troubleshooting Information” page as on the image below. In the upper-right corner of this screen, press the “Refresh Firefox” button.

It will show the confirmation dialog box, press the “Refresh Firefox” button. The Mozilla Firefox will start a procedure to fix your problems that caused by the ad supported software. Once it is complete, click the “Finish” button

Get rid of SurveyVoices pop-up ads from Google Chrome

Reset Chrome settings is a simple way to remove the malware and adware, as well as to restore the web-browser’s settings that have been replaced by adware.

  1. Now run the Google Chrome and click Menu button (small button in the form of three horizontal stripes).
  2. It will show the Chrome main menu. Select “Settings” option.
  3. You will see the Chrome’s settings page. Scroll down and press “Show advanced settings” link.
  4. Scroll down again and click the “Reset settings” button.
  5. The Chrome will show the reset profile settings page as on the image above.
  6. Next, click the “Reset” button.
  7. Once this procedure is complete, your web-browser’s settings will be restored to their original defaults. This will reset your homepage, new tab page and search engine by default.

Remove SurveyVoices from IE

To get rid of the SurveyVoices advertisements you need to reset the Internet Explorer to the state, that was when the Windows was installed on your computer.

First, start the IE, then click ‘gear’ icon Internet Explorer tools menu icon. It will show the drop-down menu on the right part of the web-browser, then press the “Internet Options” like below.

In the “Internet Options” screen, you need to select the “Advanced” tab and click the “Reset” button. The Internet Explorer will open the “Reset Internet Explorer settings” dialog box as shown below. Next, press the “Delete personal settings” check box to select it. After that, click the “Reset” button.

Once the task is done, click “Close” button. Close the Internet Explorer and restart your personal computer for the changes to take effect. This step will help you to restore your browser’s settings to default state and disable ‘ad-supported’ extensions.

Disinfect the browser’s shortcuts to delete SurveyVoices redirect

When the adware is started, it can also modify the web browser’s shortcuts, adding an argument similar “http://site.address” into the Target field. Due to this, every time you start the web browser, it will be redirected to an annoying ads.

To clear the browser shortcut, right-click to it and select Properties. On the Shortcut tab, locate the Target field. Click inside, you will see a vertical line – arrow pointer, move it (using -> arrow key on your keyboard) to the right as possible. You will see a text that begins with “http://” that has been added here. You need to remove it.

When the argument is removed, click the OK button. You need to clean all shortcuts of all your browsers, as they may be infected too.

Get rid of unwanted Scheduled Tasks

Once installed, the ‘ad supported’ software can add a task in to the Windows Task Scheduler Library. Due to this, every time when you open your PC system, it will show SurveyVoices unwanted web site. So, you need to check the Task Scheduler Library and get rid of all tasks that have been created by malicious program.

Press Windows and R keys on your keyboard together. It will show a dialog box which called Run. In the text field, type “taskschd.msc” (without the quotes) and press OK. Task Scheduler window opens. In the left-hand side, press “Task Scheduler Library”, as shown below.

In the middle part you will see a list of installed tasks. Select the first task, its properties will be show just below automatically. Next, click the Actions tab. Necessary to look at the text which is written under Details. Found something like “explorer.exe http://site.address” or “chrome.exe http://site.address” or “firefox.exe http://site.address”, then you need get rid of this task. If you are not sure that executes the task, then google it. If it is a component of the ‘ad-supported’ software, then this task also should be removed.

Further press on it with the right mouse button and select Delete as on the image below.

Repeat this step, if you have found a few tasks that have been created by malicious programs. Once is finished, close the Task Scheduler window.

Remove SurveyVoices advertisements with Malwarebytes

Remove SurveyVoices manually is difficult and often the adware is not completely removed. Therefore, we recommend you to use the Malwarebytes Free which are completely clean your computer. Once downloaded, close all applications and windows on your PC. Open a directory in which you saved it. Double-click on the icon that’s named mb3-setup like below.

Now press on the “Scan Now” button to perform a system scan for the ad-supported software that causes the redirect to SurveyVoices web page. This task can take some time, so please be patient.

When the system scan is finished, make sure all entries have “checkmark” and click “Quarantine Selected” button. The Malwarebytes will start removing the adware related files, folders, registry keys. Once the disinfection is finished, you may be prompted to reboot the machine.

How to stop SurveyVoices advertisements

To increase your security and protect your computer against new unwanted ads and malicious pages, you need to use an application that stops access to harmful ads and sites. Moreover, the application can stop the open of intrusive advertising, that also leads to faster loading of web-sites and reduce the consumption of web traffic.

  2. When downloading is finished, launch the downloaded file. You will see the “Setup Wizard” window. Follow the prompts.
  3. Once the install is complete, click “Skip” to close it and use the default settings, or press “Get Started” to see a quick tutorial which will help you get to know AdGuard better.
  4. In most cases, the default settings are enough and you do not need to change anything. Each time, when you start your computer, AdGuard will start automatically and stop ads, SurveyVoices redirects, as well as other harmful or misleading web pages. For an overview of all the features of the program, or to change its settings you can simply double-click on the AdGuard icon, that is located on your Windows desktop.

  3. Now, press the “Scan” button for scanning your system for the ad-supported software which generates SurveyVoices ads.
  4. When the system scan is finished, AdwCleaner will show a scan report. Review the report and then click “Clean” button. It will show a dialog box, press “OK” button.

Now your computer should be free of the SurveyVoices advertisements. Remove AdwCleaner.
