The Search.chipopo.info is a new browser hijacker from the big family of browser hijackers which affects browsers and changes its settings such as homepage and search engine by default. It’s currently very active spreading on the World Wide Web. Many users have problems with cleaning a computer from Search.chipopo.info redirect and restoring the Google Chrome, FF, Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Internet Explorer settings.

The Search.chipopo.info browser hijacker usually affects only the Google Chrome, FF, MS Edge and Internet Explorer. However, possible situations, when any other browsers will be affected too. The browser hijacker will perform a scan of the personal computer for web-browser shortcuts and alter them without your permission. When it infects the internet browser shortcuts, it’ll add the argument like ‘http://site.address’ into Target property. So, each time you launch the browser, you will see the Search.chipopo.info annoying web page.

Except that the Search.chipopo.info changes web-browser’s home page, it also replaces a search engine, which leads to the fact that use of the internet browser’s search becomes uncomfortable. First, you should try to identify and remove the program that causes the appearance of annoying ads or web browser redirect, using the ‘Uninstall a program’ which is located in the ‘Control panel’.

Get rid of Search.chipopo.info from Mozilla Firefox

If the Firefox settings like home page, newtab page and search provider by default have been changed by the hijacker, then resetting it to the default state can help.

First, launch the Mozilla Firefox and press Mozilla Firefox menu button button. It will open the drop-down menu on the right-part of the internet browser. Further, click the Help button (FF help button) as shown on the image below

In the Help menu, select the “Troubleshooting Information” option. Another way to open the “Troubleshooting Information” screen – type “about:support” in the web browser adress bar and press Enter. It will open the confirmation dialog box. Further, press the “Refresh Firefox” button. The Firefox will start a process to fix your problems that caused by the Search.chipopo.info browser hijacker. When, it’s done, press the “Finish” button.

Get rid of Search.chipopo.info from Internet Explorer

To restore the homepage, new tab page and search engine by default you need to reset the Internet Explorer to the state, which was when the Windows was installed on your personal computer.

First, open the Internet Explorer, then click ‘gear’ icon Internet Explorer tools menu icon. It will open the Tools drop-down menu on the right part of the browser, then press the “Internet Options” as on the image below.

In the “Internet Options” screen, select the “Advanced” tab, then click the “Reset” button. The IE will display the “Reset Internet Explorer settings” prompt. Further, press the “Delete personal settings” check box to select it. Next, click the “Reset” button as shown on the image below.

Once the procedure is finished, click “Close” button. Close the IE and restart your personal computer for the changes to take effect. This step will help you to restore your browser’s homepage, new tab and default search engine to default state.

Disinfect the browser’s shortcuts to remove Search.chipopo.info

Once installed, this hijacker infection may add an argument similar “http://search.chipopo.info” into the Target property of the desktop shortcut for the Google Chrome, FF, Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Internet Explorer. Due to this, every time you launch the web browser, it will display the annoying home page.

Right click on the web-browser’s shortcut, click Properties option. On the Shortcut tab, locate the Target field. Click inside, you will see a vertical line – arrow pointer, move it (using -> arrow key on your keyboard) to the right as possible. You will see a text “http://search.chipopo.info” that has been added here. Remove everything after .exe. An example, for Google Chrome you should remove everything after chrome.exe.

To save changes, click OK . You need to clean all web-browser’s shortcuts. So, repeat this step for the Chrome, IE, FF and Edge.
