First, you should try to identify and remove the program that causes the appearance of annoying ads or web-browser redirect, using the ‘Uninstall a program’ which is located in the ‘Control panel’.

In the Help menu, select the “Troubleshooting Information” option. Another way to open the “Troubleshooting Information” screen – type “about:support” in the web-browser adress bar and press Enter. It will open the confirmation dialog box. Further, click the “Refresh Firefox” button. The Firefox will begin a process to fix your problems that caused by the Search.searchmpct.com hijacker. When, it is finished, click the “Finish” button.

Remove Search.searchmpct.com search from Chrome

Open the Google Chrome menu by clicking on the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (Google Chrome menu button). It will show the drop-down menu. Next, click to “Settings” option.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the “Show advanced settings” link. Now scroll down until the Reset settings section is visible, as shown below and press the “Reset settings” button.

Get rid of Search.searchmpct.com homepage from Internet Explorer

First, run the Internet Explorer, click Internet Explorer tools menu icon) button. Next, click “Internet Options” like below.

In the “Internet Options” screen select the Advanced tab. Next, click Reset button. The Microsoft Internet Explorer will display the Reset Internet Explorer settings prompt. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box and click Reset button.

You will now need to restart your system for the changes to take effect. Once downloaded, close all applications and windows on your computer. Open a directory in which you saved it. Double-click on the icon that’s named mbam-setup as shown in the figure below.

Double click the AdwCleaner desktop icon. Once the utility is started, you will see a screen as shown below.

Further, click “Scan” button to perform a system scan for the Search.searchmpct.com hijacker infection and internet browser’s malicious extensions. Once the checking is complete, it will display a scan report as shown in the figure below.
