How to remove nkiz.pro [Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge]

The nkiz.pro is an ad webpage. If this site popping up in your web-browser then most probably that your machine is infected with adware (sometimes called ‘ad-supported’ software). It’s a type of dangerous software that designed to open a large amount of annoying popup ads. Unlike viruses, the adware will not delete or infect your files, but its actions will cause some problems with your browser. This is because, it’ll infect your PC, get full access to your browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer and Edge and be able to alter their settings. Of course, it did not ask you for permission and do it secretly as possible. Once your web browser settings will be modified, you will be redirected to unwanted ads, some of which can lead to dangerous or misleading web-pages. Delete suspicious and unknown software by using Windows Control Panel

Press Windows key windows key, then click Search windows search. Type “Control panel”and press Enter. If you using Windows XP or Windows 7, then click “Start” and select “Control Panel”. It will show the Windows Control Panel as on the image below. windows control panel.jpg

Next, click “Uninstall a program” remove programs panel It’ll show a list of all programs. Scroll through the all list and delete any suspicious and unknown applications.

Once installed, the adware may add an argument similar “http://site.address” into the Target property of the desktop shortcut for the Chrome, IE, FF and Edge. Due to this, every time you open the browser, it will display the nkiz.pro unwanted site.

Right click on the web-browser’s shortcut, click Properties option. On the Shortcut tab, locate the Target field. Click inside, you will see a vertical line – arrow pointer, move it (using -> arrow key on your keyboard) to the right as possible. You will see a text which starts with “http://”. Remove it or everything after .exe. An example, for Google Chrome you should remove everything after chrome.exe.

Next, click OK to save changes. You need to clean all web-browser’s shortcuts. So, repeat this step for the Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer.

Remove nkiz.pro advertisements from Firefox

First, run the FF. Next, click the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (Firefox menu button). It will display the drop-down menu. Next, press the “Help” button (Mozilla Firefox help button).

In the Help menu, click the “Troubleshooting Information”. In the upper-right corner of the “Troubleshooting Information” page, press “Refresh Firefox” button.

Confirm your action, click the “Refresh Firefox”.

Remove nkiz.pro ads from Google Chrome

Like other modern internet browsers, the Chrome has the ability to reset the settings to their default values and thereby remove the redirect to nkiz.pro annoying ads that is caused by the ‘ad-supported’ software.

At first, start the Google Chrome. Next, click the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (google chrome menu button). It will appear the main menu. Click on the option named “Settings”. Another way to display the Chrome’s settings – type chrome://settings in the internet browser adress bar and press Enter.

The browser will display the settings screen. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the “Show advanced settings” link. Now scroll down until the “Reset settings” section is visible, as shown below and click the “Reset settings” button.

The Google Chrome will display the confirmation dialog box. You need to confirm your action, click the “Reset” button. The program will launch the procedure of cleaning. Once it’s finished, the web-browser settings including the ‘block pop-ups’ option back to the values that have been when the Chrome was first installed on your PC.

Remove nkiz.pro advertisements from Internet Explorer

To delete the nkiz.pro advertisements you need to reset the Internet Explorer to the state, which was when the Windows was installed on your computer.

First, launch the Internet Explorer, then click ‘gear’ icon Microsoft Internet Explorer tools menu icon. It will display the drop-down menu on the right part of the web browser, then click the “Internet Options” as shown on the screen below.

In the “Internet Options” screen, you need to select the “Advanced” tab and click the “Reset” button. The Internet Explorer will display the “Reset IE settings” prompt as shown on the screen below. Next, press the “Delete personal settings” check box to select it. After that, click the “Reset” button.

When the task is finished, click “Close” button. Close the Microsoft Internet Explorer and restart your PC system for the changes to take effect. This step will help you to restore your browser’s settings to default state and disable ‘ad-supported’ extensions.

Remove unwanted Scheduled Tasks

Once installed, the adware can add a task in to the Windows Task Scheduler Library. Due to this, every time when you launch your personal computer, it will open nkiz.pro unwanted web site. So, you need to check the Task Scheduler Library and delete all tasks that have been created by adware.

Press Windows and R keys on your keyboard simultaneously. It will display a dialog box that titled with Run. In the text field, type “taskschd.msc” (without the quotes) and click OK. Task Scheduler window opens. In the left-hand side, press “Task Scheduler Library”, as shown in the figure below.

In the middle part you will see a list of installed tasks. Select the first task, its properties will be open just below automatically. Next, click the Actions tab. Necessary to look at the text which is written under Details. Found something like “explorer.exe http://site.address” or “chrome.exe http://site.address” or “firefox.exe http://site.address”, then you need get rid of this task. If you are not sure that executes the task, then google it. If it is a component of the adware, then this task also should be removed.

Further click on it with the right mouse button and select Delete as shown on the screen below.

Repeat this step, if you have found a few tasks that have been created by malicious applications. Once is done, close the Task Scheduler window.
