Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is designed to quickly detect, destroy, and prevent malware, spyware, trojans. It can detect and remove malware that even the most well-known Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware applications on the market today cannot.

The interface is plain and simple to use. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware scan system allows performing a quick scan or a full scan, depending on your needs.

How to use MalwareBytes Anti-malware

  1. Download and install MalwareBytes Anti-malware
  2. Perform a system scan with MalwareBytes Anti-malware

Download and install MalwareBytes Anti-malware

Download MalwareBytes Anti-malware from the following link.

Open a catalog where you saved it. By default, all programs are stored in the Downloads, which is in your Documents directory.  You will see an icon similar to the one below.

Close all programs and windows on your computer. Double-click MBSetup icon to run it and you will see a prompt similar to the figure below.

Follow the prompts. Do not make any changes to default settings and when the program has finished installing click Get Started.

Perform a system scan with MalwareBytes Anti-malware

Once the installation is completed, you will see a Malwarebytes Anti-Malware screen like below.

Now, wait a few minutes. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware will try to perform an update process. When database has been updated, click to “Scan” button. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware will start scanning your computer.

Remove malware with MalwareBytes Anti-malware

Once the scan is completed, you will see a report like below.

Make sure all entries have “checkmark” and click “Quarantine” button. MalwareBytes Anti-malware will run a removal process. When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.

1. I cannot download Malwarebytes Anti-malware.

Probably your computer infected with DNSChanger trojan. Read and follow these instructions: How to remove trojan DNSChanger.

2. Malwarebytes Anti-malware won`t install, run or update.

Read following instructions: Malwarebytes won`t install, run or update – How to fix it

3. Got error code 731 (0,9).

Try restarting the computer, it should solve the error.

    I used maleware.. to try to remove ,, System Defragmenter from my computer… Ran scan and it found some stuff and removed it.. but when i restarted .. it was still there.. ran scan again in safe mode and it did not detect any infections… ???.. hmmm.. any ideas how i can get this all out ???

    Thank you so much for the instructions! My computer was infected with ThinkPoint and it shut me out of everything. Thankfully after following these instructions, I was able to remove ThinkPoint from my computer. 🙂

    I ran SpywareDoctor first and it discovered 45+ files. When I ran Malware it only found 22, I removed those and Antivirus action is still on my computer. I ran it twice more, once quick, once full and it found another 6 files altogether.
    Please help, I need this gone now.

    I closed all programs and the speaker was on and when the cleaning I could hear lot of background music and conversation. Looks like this is a dangerous virus and lot of middle east wav files played in the background. Be really careful and ensure the Trojan is properly cleared. I am still in the process. Thank you providing valuable info hear. Without this even I would be stuck.

    I was running the Malwarebytes. Fount 37 infected files. CPU 100 % and frozen. Not sue what to do now. Any help is highly appreciated.

    I get error (unable to locate component)

    This Application has failed to start because MSVBVM60.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

    I have reinstalled and still no luck.

    Eric, try the following:
    Click Start -> Run.
    Type notepad and press Enter.
    Copy all the text below into Notepad.
    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll"
    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\ssubtmr6.dll"
    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\vbalsgrid6.ocx"

    Save this as fix.bat to your Desktop. Remember to select Save as file type: All files in Notepad.
    Double Click fix.bat. A black window will open and then disappear this is normal.
    If that does not fix it, then please download and install the Microsoft Visual Basic Common Controls from here.

    I had XP Antispyware 2011 and couldn’t do anything on my computer. I had to download Malwarebytes onto disk on another computer to load it on mine, as my internet explorer wouldn’t work.

    Now everthing works perfect again – thank you so much!!

    This removed ThinkPoint, but now when I restart/reboot my PC, I get the following Error loading messages:

    C:\Windows\system32\zflrox.dll

    Can you help? This is annoying to have to clear this boxes at every restart or reboot.

    Pietro Sarto, probably your computer is infected with a trojan dnschanger or TDSS trojan. Try run TDSSKiller. Download TDSSKiller from here and unzip to your desktop.
    Open tdsskiller folder and run TDSSKiller. Follow the prompts.

    I cannot download the program, it says “your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded”

    Alfredo, check your browser settings (proxy settings). Try reset them.

    I had to download the latest verison of Maleware Bytes to my laptop and save it on a USB storage stick. I could then load Malware Bytes onto my infected computer using the USB stick.
