Answer for pop up ads saying Windows Media Player is out of date!

Bruce Crable April 7, 2016

The popup is a scam. Looks like you picked up some adware or malware. Use the following solution:

  1. Open Control Panel, next Uninstall a program. Scroll through all list and uninstall all unused and unknown programs.
  2. Use the free malware and adware removers such as the AdwCleaner, JRT, Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool and Malwarebytes Anti-malware Free
  3. Run Chrome Cleanup Tool and reset Chrome’s settings to default
