What is Captcha Wall?
Captcha Wall pop-ups are a SCAM that uses social engineering to fool users into allowing browser push notifications. Push notifications are originally designed to alert users of recently published content. Scammers abuse ‘push notifications’ to avoid anti-virus and adblocker programs by displaying unwanted ads. After downloading is done, close all software and windows on your computer. Double-click the install file called MBSetup. If the “User Account Control” dialog box pops up as displayed on the image below, click the “Yes” button.
It will open the Setup wizard that will help you install MalwareBytes on your personal computer. Follow the prompts and don’t make any changes to default settings.
Once installation is complete successfully, click “Get Started” button. MalwareBytes Anti-Malware will automatically start and you can see its main screen as displayed in the following example.
Now click the “Scan” button to perform a system scan for the adware responsible for Captcha Wall pop-up ads. This procedure can take quite a while, so please be patient.
When the scanning is complete, MalwareBytes Free will open a scan report. Once you’ve selected what you want to delete from your personal computer click “Quarantine” button.
