AnalyticParameter is a PUP (potentially unwanted program) that belongs to the Adware family . Adware can make big problem to your MAC system. Adware is a part of malicious software which displays lots of adverts in form of popups, coupons, promos or even fake alerts on the web browser. Adware software can seriously affect your privacy, your computer’s performance and security. Adware software can be installed onto your MAC without your knowledge.

Remove unwanted profiles on Mac device

AnalyticParameter can install a configuration profile on the Mac system to block changes made to the browser settings. Therefore, you need to open system preferences, find and delete the profile installed by the adware.

Click the System Preferences icon ( ) in the Dock, or choose Apple menu ( ) > System Preferences.

In System Preferences, click Profiles, then select a profile related to AnalyticParameter.

Click the minus button ( – ) located at the bottom-left of the Profiles screen to remove the profile.
Note: if you do not see Profiles in the System Preferences, that means there are no profiles installed on your Mac computer, which is normal.

Uninstall AnalyticParameter related programs through the Finder

The next step in uninstalling adware, browser hijackers and PUPs by yourself is to go into the Finder, then Applications. Take a look at the list of software on your Mac and see if there are any dubious and unknown software. If you see any, you need to uninstall it. Of course, before doing so, you can do an Web search to find details on the application. If it is a browser hijacker, adware and PUP, you will likely find information that says so.

Open Finder and click “Applications”.

Carefully browse through the list of installed apps and delete all suspicious and unknown apps.

When you have found anything dubious that may be the AnalyticParameter adware software or other PUP, then right click this program and choose “Move to Trash”. Once complete, Empty Trash.

Remove AnalyticParameter related files and folders

Now you need to try to find AnalyticParameter related files and folders, and then delete them manually. You need to look for these files in certain directories. To quickly open them, we recommend using the “Go to Folder…” command.

Click on the Finder icon. From the menu bar, select Go and click “Go to Folder…”. As a result, a small window opens that allows you to quickly open a specific directory.

In the “Go to Folder…” window, type the following text and press Go:
/Library/LaunchAgents

This will open the contents of the “/Library/LaunchAgents” folder. Look carefully at it and pay special attention to recently created files, as well as files that have a suspicious name. Move all suspicious files to the Trash. A few examples of files: installapp.plist, search.plist, AnalyticParameter.plist, macsearch.plist and com.machelper.plist. Most often, browser hijackers, adware software and potentially unwanted programs create several files with similar names.

Check for AnalyticParameter generated files in the /Library/Application Support folder

In the “Go to Folder…” window, type the following text and press Go:
/Library/Application Support

This will open the contents of the “Application Support” folder. Look carefully at its contents, pay special attention to recently added/changed folder. Move all suspicious folders to the Trash.

Check for AnalyticParameter generated files in the “~/Library/LaunchAgents” folder

In the “Go to Folder…” window, type the following text and press Go:

Proceed in the same way as with the “/Library/LaunchAgents” and “/Library/Application Support” folders. Look for suspicious and recently added files. Move all suspicious files to the Trash.

Check for AnalyticParameter generated files in the /Library/LaunchDaemons folder

In the “Go to Folder…” window, type the following text and press Go:
/Library/LaunchDaemons

Carefully browse the entire list of files and pay special attention to recently created files, as well as files that have a suspicious name. Move all suspicious files to the Trash. A few examples of files to be deleted: com.AnalyticParameter.plist, com.installapp.plist, com.machelper.plist, com.macsearch.plist and com.search.plist. In most cases, adware, browser hijackers and potentially unwanted programs create several files with similar names.

Scan your Mac with MalwareBytes

When the downloading process is done, close all windows on your MAC system. Further, run the saved file. Follow the prompts.

Next, click the “Scan Now” button to perform a system scan for the AnalyticParameter adware. A system scan can take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes, depending on your MAC system. While the tool is checking, you can see how many objects and files has already scanned.

After that process is done, MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) will show a screen that contains a list of malware that has been found. Once you have selected what you wish to delete from your MAC system press the “Quarantine” button.

Remove AnalyticParameter from Safari, Chrome, Firefox

Annoying AnalyticParameter ads or other symptoms of adware in your internet browser is a good reason to find and remove malicious extensions. This is an easy method to restore internet browsers settings and not lose any important information.

You can also try to delete AnalyticParameter adware software by reset Google Chrome settings.

  • Click on ‘menu’ button and select ‘Add-ons’.
  • Go to ‘Extensions’ tab.
  • To uninstall an add-on, click on ‘Remove’ button next to it.

If you are still experiencing issues with AnalyticParameter adware removal, you need to reset Firefox browser.

  • Select ‘Extensions’ tab.
  • Select an extension you want to delete and click ‘Uninstall’ button next to it.
