Once the download is finished, close all windows on your computer. Further, start the file called mb3-setup. If the “User Account Control” dialog box pops up as shown below, press the “Yes” button.

Another method to remove changes to internet browser settings created by IDP.Generic virus is Reset Google Chrome settings. This will disable harmful extensions and reset Google Chrome settings including newtab page, home page and default search engine to original settings. However, your saved bookmarks and passwords will not be lost. This will not affect your history, passwords, bookmarks, and other saved data.

  1. First start the Google Chrome and click Menu button (small button in the form of three dots).
  2. It will display the Google Chrome main menu. Choose More Tools, then click Extensions.
  3. You will see the list of installed plugins. If the list has the addon labeled with “Installed by enterprise policy” or “Installed by your administrator”, then complete the following steps: Remove Chrome extensions installed by enterprise policy.
  4. Now open the Chrome menu once again, press the “Settings” menu.
  5. You will see the Google Chrome’s settings page. Scroll down and click “Advanced” link.
  6. Scroll down again and click the “Reset” button.
  7. The Google Chrome will show the reset profile settings page as on the image above.
  8. Next press the “Reset” button.
  9. Once this task is complete, your browser’s newtab page, default search provider and start page will be restored to their original defaults.

Remove IDP.Generic virus from Mozilla Firefox

If the Mozilla Firefox internet browser program is affected by the IDP.Generic virus, then resetting its settings can help. The Reset feature is available on all modern version of Mozilla Firefox. A reset can fix many issues by restoring Firefox settings to their original settings. It will save your personal information like saved passwords, bookmarks, auto-fill data and open tabs.

First, open the Firefox and press Firefox menu button button. It will display the drop-down menu on the right-part of the web browser. Further, click the Help button (Firefox help button) as displayed on the image below.

In the Help menu, select the “Troubleshooting Information” option. Another way to open the “Troubleshooting Information” screen – type “about:support” in the internet browser adress bar and press Enter. It will open the “Troubleshooting Information” page as displayed below. In the upper-right corner of this screen, press the “Refresh Firefox” button.

It will show the confirmation prompt. Further, click the “Refresh Firefox” button. The Mozilla Firefox will start a task to fix your problems that caused by the IDP.Generic virus. After, it is finished, click the “Finish” button.

Get rid of IDP.Generic from IE

By resetting Microsoft Internet Explorer browser you restore your internet browser settings to its default state. This is good initial when troubleshooting problems that might have been caused by the IDP.Generic virus.

First, run the IE. Next, click the button in the form of gear (IE tools menu icon). It will display the Tools drop-down menu, click the “Internet Options” as displayed in the figure below.

In the “Internet Options” window click on the Advanced tab, then click the Reset button. The Internet Explorer will show the “Reset Internet Explorer settings” window as displayed below. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box, then click “Reset” button.

You will now need to restart your PC for the changes to take effect.
