To put it simply, you need to use an ad-blocking tool (AdGuard, for example). It will block and protect you from all malicious webpages, unwanted advertisements and popups. To be able to do that, the adblocker application uses a list of filters. Each filter is a rule that describes a malicious web page, an advertising content, a banner and others. The ad-blocking application automatically uses these filters, depending on the web-sites you’re visiting.

  1. AdGuard can be downloaded from the following link. Save it to your Desktop so that you can access the file easily.

    Category: Security tools
    Update: November 15, 2018
  2. When downloading is finished, start the downloaded file. You will see the “Setup Wizard” program window. Follow the prompts.
  3. After the setup is finished, click “Skip” to close the installation program and use the default settings, or press “Get Started” to see an quick tutorial which will help you get to know AdGuard better.
  4. In most cases, the default settings are enough and you don’t need to change anything. Each time, when you start your personal computer, AdGuard will start automatically and stop unwanted popup ads, as well as other harmful or misleading sites. For an overview of all the features of the program, or to change its settings you can simply double-click on the icon named AdGuard, that is located on your desktop.

Do not know how your system has been hijacked by Bitcoin virus?

In most cases, the Bitcoin virus comes without the user’s knowledge. Therefore, many users aren’t even aware that their PC system has been infected with this malicious software. Please follow the easy rules in order to protect your PC from any undesired programs: don’t install any suspicious software, read the user agreement and choose only the Custom, Manual or Advanced install method, don’t rush to press the Next button. Also, always try to find a review of the application on the Internet. Be careful and attentive! If Bitcoin virus has already come into your machine, then you need to scan your computer for adware and other malicious software. Use our detailed step-by-step guidance which are listed above.

To sum up

Now your PC should be clean of the Bitcoin virus that uses your GPU to mine crypto currency. We suggest that you keep AdGuard (to help you block unwanted pop-up ads and annoying malicious webpages) and Zemana Anti Malware (to periodically scan your computer for new malware, browser hijackers and adware). Make sure that you have all the Critical Updates recommended for MS Windows operating system. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new browser hijacker infections, malicious programs and adware are released.
