Press Windows button windows key, then press Search windows search. Type “Control panel”and press Enter. If you using Windows XP or Windows 7, then press “Start” and select “Control Panel”. It will open the Windows Control Panel as shown in the figure below.

Further, press “Uninstall a program” ControlPanel Uninstall
It will display a list of all programs installed on your computer. Scroll through the all list, and uninstall any suspicious and unknown programs.

Fix infected web browsers shortcuts

Unfortunately, the browser hijacker can also hijack Windows shortcuts (mostly, your web browsers shortcuts), so that the Searchanonymo.com home page will be displayed when you open the FF, Google Chrome, IE and Microsoft Edge or another web-browser.

Open the properties of the web browser shortcut. Right click on the shortcut of infected web-browser and select the “Properties” option and it will display the properties of the shortcut. Next, choose the “Shortcut” tab and have a look at the Target field as shown below.

Normally, if the last word in the Target field is chrome.exe, iexplore.exe, firefox.exe. Be sure to pay attention to the extension, should be “exe”! All shortcuts that have been altered by hijacker infection like Searchanonymo.com usually point to .bat, .cmd or .url files instead of .exe as shown on the image below

Another variant, an address has been added at the end of the line. In this case the Target field looks like …Application\chrome.exe” http://site.address as shown on the image below.

In order to fix a shortcut, you need to insert right path to the Target field or remove an address (if it has been added at the end). You can use the following information to fix your shortcuts which have been modified by hijacker.

Once is finished, press OK to save changes. Repeat the step for all internet browsers which are rerouted to the Searchanonymo.com undesired web-site.

Get rid of Searchanonymo.com search from FF

First, open the Firefox. Next, press the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (Firefox menu button). It will display the drop-down menu. Next, click the Help button (Firefox help button).

In the Help menu click the “Troubleshooting Information”. In the upper-right corner of the “Troubleshooting Information” page click on “Refresh Firefox” button as shown below.

Confirm your action, press the “Refresh Firefox”.

Remove Searchanonymo.com from Internet Explorer

In order to restore all browser start page, new tab page and default search engine you need to reset the Internet Explorer to the state, which was when the MS Windows was installed on your PC.

First, start the Internet Explorer, click Internet Explorer tools menu icon) button. Next, click “Internet Options” as shown in the figure below.

In the “Internet Options” screen select the Advanced tab. Next, click Reset button. The IE will show the Reset Internet Explorer settings prompt. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box and click Reset button.

It will remove Searchanonymo.com browser hijacker infection, disable malicious and ad-supported web-browser’s extensions and restore the IE’s settings like start page, newtab page and search provider by default to default state.

When downloading is complete, close all windows on your system. Further, run the file named mb3-setup. If the “User Account Control” dialog box pops up as shown in the figure below, click the “Yes” button.
