How to remove PriceMinus ads [Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge]

Remove suspicious and unknown programs by using Windows Control Panel

We recommend that you start the personal computer cleaning procedure by checking the list of installed programs and remove all unknown or suspicious programs. This is a very important step, as mentioned above, very often the malicious applications such as adware and browser hijackers may be bundled with free software. It will show a list of all software. Scroll through the all list, and remove any suspicious and unknown software. To quickly find the latest installed programs, we recommend sort software by date of installation in the Control panel.

Remove PriceMinus pop-up ads from Firefox

First, start the FF. Next, press the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (Firefox menu button). It will open the drop-down menu. Next, click the “Help” button (Mozilla Firefox help button).

In the Help menu, press the “Troubleshooting Information”. In the upper-right corner of the “Troubleshooting Information” page, press “Refresh Firefox” button.

Confirm your action, press the “Refresh Firefox”.

Get rid of PriceMinus ads from Chrome

Reset Google Chrome settings is a simple way to remove the malicious and ad-supported extensions, as well as to restore the browser’s home page, newtab page and search provider by default that have been changed by adware.

  1. Open the Google Chrome, then click the Menu icon (icon in the form of three horizontal stripes).
  2. It will open the Chrome main menu. Click the “Settings” menu.

Remove Ads by PriceMinus adware from Microsoft Internet Explorer

First, run the IE, then click Internet Explorer tools menu icon button. Next, click “Internet Options” as shown in the figure below.

In the “Internet Options” screen select the Advanced tab. Next, click the “Reset” button. The Internet Explorer will display the “Reset Internet Explorer” settings prompt. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box and click Reset button.

You will now need to restart your system for the changes to take effect. It will restore the Internet Explorer’s settings such as homepage and search engine by default to default state, disable ad-supported web-browser’s extensions and thereby remove the unwanted PriceMinus ads.

Disinfect the browser’s shortcuts

When the adware is started, it can also alter the web browser’s shortcuts, adding an argument such as “http://site.address” into the Target field. Due to this, every time you start the internet browser, it will be redirected to an unwanted ads.

To clear the web-browser shortcut, right-click to it and select Properties. On the Shortcut tab, locate the Target field. Click inside, you will see a vertical line – arrow pointer, move it (using -> arrow key on your keyboard) to the right as possible. You will see a text that starts with “http://” that has been added here. You need to remove it.

When the argument is removed, press the OK button. You need to clean all shortcuts of all your web browsers, as they may be infected too.

Remove unwanted Scheduled Tasks

Once installed, the adware can add a task in to the Windows Task Scheduler Library. Due to this, every time when you start your personal computer, it will display PriceMinus unwanted ads. So, you need to check the Task Scheduler Library and delete all tasks that have been created by ‘ad-supported’ software.

Press Windows and R keys on your keyboard at the same time. It will show a prompt that titled with Run. In the text field, type “taskschd.msc” (without the quotes) and click OK. Task Scheduler window opens. In the left-hand side, press “Task Scheduler Library”, as shown below.

In the middle part you will see a list of installed tasks. Select the first task, its properties will be display just below automatically. Next, press the Actions tab. Necessary to look at the text which is written under Details. Found something like “explorer.exe http://site.address” or “chrome.exe http://site.address” or “firefox.exe http://site.address”, then you need delete this task. If you are not sure that executes the task, then google it. If it’s a component of the malicious program, then this task also should be removed.

Repeat this step, if you have found a few tasks that have been created by adware. Once is finished, close the Task Scheduler window.

Once downloaded, close all programs and windows on your machine. Open a directory in which you saved it. Double-click on the icon that’s named mb3-setup like below.
