The best way to begin the personal computer cleanup is to remove unknown and suspicious programs. Using the Windows Control Panel you can do this quickly and easily. This step, in spite of its simplicity, should not be ignored, because the removing of unneeded applications can clean up your internet browser from ads, hijackers and so on.

  1. If you are using Windows 8, 8.1 or 10 then press Windows key, click Search. Type “Control panel”and press Enter.
  2. If you are using Windows XP, Vista, 7, then press “Start” button and click “Control Panel”.
  3. It will display the Windows Control Panel.
  4. Click “Uninstall a program” under Programs category.
  5. You will see a list of all installed applications.

Disinfect the browser’s shortcuts to remove subwaysco.com redirect

Click the right mouse button to a desktop shortcut which you use to start your browser. Next, select the “Properties” option. Important: necessary to click on the desktop shortcut for the internet browser which is redirected to the subwaysco.com or other unwanted site.

Get rid of subwaysco.com redirect from Google Chrome

Like other modern browsers, the Google Chrome has the ability to reset the settings to their default values and thereby remove the redirect to subwaysco.com annoying ads which is caused by the adware.

At first, start the Google Chrome. Next, click the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (google chrome menu button). It will appear the main menu. Click on the option named “Settings”. Another way to display the Google Chrome’s settings – type chrome://settings in the web browser adress bar and press Enter.

The web browser will display the settings screen. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the “Show advanced settings” link. Now scroll down until the “Reset settings” section is visible, as shown on the screen below and press the “Reset settings” button.

The Chrome will display the confirmation prompt. You need to confirm your action, press the “Reset” button. The program will start the procedure of cleaning. When it’s complete, the internet browser settings including the ‘block pop-ups’ option back to the values that have been when the Google Chrome was first installed on your PC system.

Remove subwaysco.com pop-up ads from Mozilla Firefox

First, run the Mozilla Firefox. Next, click the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (Firefox menu button). It will open the drop-down menu. Next, click the “Help” button (FF help button).

In the Help menu, click the “Troubleshooting Information”. In the upper-right corner of the “Troubleshooting Information” page, click “Refresh Firefox” button.

Confirm your action, click the “Refresh Firefox”.

Get rid of subwaysco.com pop-up ads from Internet Explorer

First, launch the IE, then click the button in the form of gear (IE tools menu icon). It will show the Tools drop-down menu as shown in the following image. Next, press the “Internet Options”.

In the Internet Options window click on the Advanced tab, then press the Reset button. The Microsoft Internet Explorer will show the “Reset Internet Explorer settings” window as shown on the image below. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box, then click on “Reset” button.

You will now need to reboot your PC for the changes to take effect.

Remove unwanted Scheduled Tasks

Once installed, the ‘ad-supported’ software can add a task in to the Windows Task Scheduler Library. Due to this, every time when you launch your computer, it will show subwaysco.com annoying web page. So, you need to check the Task Scheduler Library and delete all tasks that have been created by ‘ad-supported’ program.

Press Windows and R keys on your keyboard together. It will display a prompt which titled with Run. In the text field, type “taskschd.msc” (without the quotes) and click OK. Task Scheduler window opens. In the left-hand side, click “Task Scheduler Library”, like below.

In the middle part you will see a list of installed tasks. Select the first task, its properties will be open just below automatically. Next, click the Actions tab. Necessary to look at the text which is written under Details. Found something such as “explorer.exe http://site.address” or “chrome.exe http://site.address” or “firefox.exe http://site.address”, then you need remove this task. If you are not sure that executes the task, then google it. If it’s a component of the ‘ad-supported’ programs, then this task also should be removed.

Further press on it with the right mouse button and select Delete as on the image below.

Repeat this step, if you have found a few tasks that have been created by ‘ad-supported’ application. Once is finished, close the Task Scheduler window.

How to delete subwaysco.com pop-ups with free malware remover
