First, you should try to identify and remove the program that causes the appearance of unwanted advertising and web-browser redirect to unwanted web-sites, using the ‘Uninstall a program’ which is located in the ‘Control panel’.

Once you have found a suspicious, unwanted or unused program, right click to it and press ‘Uninstall’.

Windows XP, Vista, 7

We recommend to sort the list by date of installation to quickly find the programs that were installed last. Right click on the web-browser’s shortcut, click Properties option. On the Shortcut tab, locate the Target field. Click inside, you will see a vertical line – arrow pointer, move it (using -> arrow key on your keyboard) to the right as possible. You will see a text “http://www.dnav.com” that has been added here. Remove everything after .exe. An example, for Google Chrome you should remove everything after chrome.exe. clean a shorcut Click OK to save changes. You need to clean all web-browser’s shortcuts. So, repeat this step for the Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

Uninstall Dnav.com search from Chrome

Like other modern browsers, the Google Chrome has the ability to reset the settings to their default values and thus restore the homepage, search engine by default that have been modified by the Dnav.com infection.

Start the Google Chrome. Click on the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (google chrome menu button). It will appear the main menu. Click on the option named “Settings”. The program will start the process of cleaning and when it is finished, the browser settings including homepage, search engine by default back to the values that have been when the Google Chrome was first installed on your system.

Uninstall Dnav.com from Mozilla Firefox

If the Mozilla Firefox settings such as start page, search provider by default have been changed by the browser hijacker infection, then resetting it to the default state can help.

Run the Firefox and press Firefox menu button button to show the Tools menu. It shows the drop-down menu on the right-part of the web-browser. Click on the Help button (Firefox help button). Uninstall Dnav.com startpage from Microsoft Internet Explorer

To restore the startpage, new tab page and default search engine you need to reset the Microsoft Internet Explorer’s settings to the state, they were when the Windows OS was first installed on your system.

Launch the Internet Explorer. Open the Tools menu (click ‘gear’ icon internet explorer tools menu icon).
