Once downloaded, close all programs and windows on your system. Open a directory in which you saved it. Double-click on the icon that’s named mbam-setup as on the image below.
When the install starts, you will see the “Setup wizard” that will help you install Malwarebytes on your computer.
Once installation is done, you will see window as shown on the image below.

I had a RocketTab infestation in Google Chrome (both Windows 10 and Linux). After experimenting with disabling all my extensions and re-enabling them one at a time, I discovered the culprit was the “Tab Manager” extension. Apparently this extension has RocketTab secretly embedded in it. The support web site and GitHub repository for this extension are no longer active (as of Feb. 2018). As an alternative to “Tab Manager”, I am now using “Tabli”.
