Stendange.work is a misleading web-page that uses social engineering techniques to fool unsuspecting users into subscribing to browser notification spam from this or similar web sites that will in turn bombard users with unwanted advertisements usually related to adware, adult web-pages and other click fraud schemes. This webpage will show the ‘Show notifications’ confirmation request states that clicking ‘Allow’ button will let you connect to the Internet, download a file, access the content of the website, watch a video, enable Flash Player, and so on.

If you click on the ‘Allow’ button, the Stendange.work web site starts sending a large number of browser notification spam on your your screen. You will see the pop-up adverts even when your browser is closed. The push notifications will essentially be ads for ‘free’ online games, prize & lottery scams, suspicious web-browser plugins, adult web pages, and adware bundles as displayed in the figure below.

  • Save changes.
  • In the top right hand corner, click on the three dots to expand the Edge menu.
  • Scroll down, find and click ‘Settings’. In the left side select ‘Advanced’.
  • Click ‘Manage permissions’ button, located beneath ‘Website permissions’.
  • Disable the on switch for the Stendange.work site.
